That's been the speculation (the performances were lovably sloppy sometimes, but that's to be expected when pulling out songs you've played a handful of times, if ever), but there was an interesting tidbit in either the Temple or MLB reissue threads indicating something happened to the film. I'd be curious to know if more of that was fleshed out in later threads.

I would buy any DVD's from PJ. Whether the performance is perfect or not. Some times there is beauty to be seen, when things aren't perfect!

If they were really wearing the same clothing on purpose, then would it just be a "best of DVD"? Truthfully, I'd find that kind of lame. I would much rather see a full show DVD.

I'd love to see them release a DVD box set of both Fenway shows and both Wrigley shows. Charge $60-$80.

I remember asking someone off of PJXM if they'd be releasing it and they said they were going to try and put something together. I kept wondering when though. But I also remember hearing about how some songs weren't as "perfect" as some hoped. I agree with THE LOOK, there is beauty in 'flaw'. I hope to hear more about this

Without looking at the setlists, I think the repeats were only Jeremy, Alive, Even Flow, Betterman, All The Way...

Im more in favor of a Touring Band '16 than a complete show. I might be in the minority on that tho. It was nice to drop in on so many shows all with great performances

I can only tell you that upon trying to retrieve the raw video files for the Temple of the Dog Reissue the PJ20 footage was not available, only a DVD filmed from the screens in standard definition. They did not have their current crew from 2012 on that they contract now that films them in HD with 15 camera angles and does a great job and knows their music. There reason for not releasing the audio could be speculated as performance related, but as for video as far as I know nobody ever tried to obtain the video until thisTemple Reissue. They may have been able to mix the raw files after but somewhere between then and now the files were misplaced.

  • Totally stolen from facebook.........if anything, this tour screams for a touring band style DVD

    25 shows
    763 total songs
    167 different songs
31 songs per night (and don't forget only 9 songs for the TMR show)
    Only MYM played every night
45 songs were played one time
41 other songs played only twice
Most common opener = Go (4 times)
Most common closer = Yellow Ledbetter (10)

Thanks for the update on this! Part of me loves the fact that PJ20 was a utopia that only exists in my mind, but the other part of my would love to rewatch/listen in semi decent quality. And I had no idea all shows were filmed in HD with 15 angles. The crew obviously knows the music well. Thanks so much for the info!!

The crew they currently have started out with 5 cameras and then continued to expand more angles as they and the band got more comfortable with each other, so the earlier Lightning Bolt Tours will have less angles then these Stadium shows that they have just added these overhead angles.. None of this is any inside info.. I just was listening to the Q&A at the House of Blues thingy in between the Fenway shows... As for the info about the PJ20 footage I did obtain this info from inside sources..

Me too. Love full shows also, ofc.

But man. They should have released a Touring Band-DVD/BD every tour for members only.

    Touring band 2000
    Touring band 2003
    Touring band 2006

    etc.

  • i wouldnt read into the clothing thingbut the rooftop performance must have been recorded for a specific reason, bonus feature on the dvd
  • Did the band really have the same clothes. All of them?

    Yes.
Except for Stone had different underwear on. Mikes guitar playing on night 1 made him crap his pants. Subsequently, he threw that pair away and wore boxer briefs on night 2.

Keep an eye out...I have heard, on good authority, the ones he threw away MAY end up on ebay...

  • I'm sure most every show is recorded. That said, we know Fenway 1 was as it was shown at HOB. I thought it was interesting how tehre was no Lightning Bolt backdrop for Fenway 1 but it was there for Fenway 2 and Wrigley 1. But then all of the sudden it was gone again for Wrigley 2. Maybe others know a reason why the backdrop was gone at two of the four shows (wind maybe?) but it got me thinking that Fenway 1 and Wrigley 2 could be making their way to DVD and they wanted a cleaner backdrop. Fingers crossed..

i heart tb2k. much prefer the variety of that over live at the garden.

i think it's goofy about repeating the clothing so they could splice best together (but a logical leap). i mean, they're not kidding us, so why bother?
