What a night. The energy from the band and crowd was definitely there. So many highlights but I will never forget Release. I legit teared up during Release and I'm not afraid to say it. And how about Gleason coming on stage? That was a great and emotional moment.

Just an awesome show with an awesome set. Of course I'd love to go to night 2, but last night was so satisfying. Thank you, Pearl Jam.

My only complaint Ed talked a lot - probably more than at any show I have been- would have loved a few more songs

Seems like he's doing this a lot more lately. I loved it when they would play like 6-7 songs and he would just say "pardon my manners but good evening" and that's it...

If anyone is staying for the Monday show and is looking for something to do, we went to the Art Institute of Chicago yesterday morning and afternoon and it was phenomenal. Just sayin'...

Looking forward to Monday's show and need to find more stuff to do ourselves today and tomorrow.

It has been many years now, but when our kinds were younger and we lived in Indiana, the Field Museum was our favorite destination. Chicago has some amazing museums -- the Field, Shedd Aquarium, the planetarium, and the Museum of Science and Industry. The Field, Shedd, and Adler (planetarium) all are within an easy, scenic walk of each other, too.

What a fucking show. Tremendous energy on stage. The guys seemed to be having a hell of a good time.

And they sounded so damn good. I mean, good god... What I wouldn't give for that show on DVD.

    Exactly this. Bravo PJ
  • Great show! I had section 124 row 13, my brother had section 235 row 1 with slightly worse member number. His seats were better so we all sat in 235.

Inside Job was my number one highlight, been wanting it for a while. With Gleason intro was amazing. Other highlights were Release, Sad (heard the sound check from outside earlier so we were hoping), I Got Id, Miracles, Let Me Sleep, actually there are just to many too list.

Could not understand much of Edspeak where we were, and there was a lot of it.

Awesome show last night and you are a great guy Cory. My friend said you are one of the nicest guys he has met and I concur.

So many great rarities and an amazing acoustic I believe in Miracles (best version was the 2005 Gorge then 2003 Benaroya).

Release. Finally! Can't begin to describe how I felt when I heard those opening notes. Right after Low Light I looked over to my friend and told her it was now or never. And then it happened.

Disclaimer: I'm about to sound like a spoiled PJ fan, but...

Seven covers? Seven? I could've gone to a local bar and watched a cover band play if I wanted to hear covers. Seven?

I've now seen Let Me Sleep and Bee Girl three times a piece in the last three years. Woe is me, but the novelty of those songs is lost on me now. My white whales are Tremor Christ and Parting Ways. Isn't there a saying around here...there's always next year? Maybe Monday's set will include one of those two songs. I wouldn't hate that at all.

This set list felt disjointed. Great songs, great sound, odd flow. It felt like driving on I-90...lots of stop and go.

I was at both NYC shows and both Fenway shows, and the overall flow of this show didn't compare to those. Crowd was great down in GA. And again, great songs, great sound, odd flow, and seriously, seven covers?

    I await your disdain.

The comments and questions seemed sort of harmless and playful to me. Eddie's not a lead guitarist like Mike, so when the guy said he wore the shirt for Mike, I think Eddie didn't register that Steve Vai was the lead guitarist for Whitesnake. I don't think there is a serious lead guitarist out there that doesn't respect Steve Vai's acumen, even in a band like Whitesnake. Otherwise, it would be ironic as Eddie suggested in his question.

Completely blown away. Awesome set list. AMAZING energy in the pit. I had an incredible spot that only added to the experience on so many levels. Waiting all day. Soaked in the morning then dried out. Then we finally hit the field and it immediately starts pouring again. I was soaked completely through. Didn't care. Here's the thing. I LOVE inside job. I've never heard it live. It has so much intense personal meaning to me. I've been hoping to hear it all tour. This is my last show this tour. I caught it. When I saw Mike strap on that guitar I was overcome with emotion. Thank you Pearl jam for a year I will never forget!

I had tears in my eyes during Inside Job just sitting here on my couch watching via the scope...can't imagine if I had been there. The waterworks would have been flowing, for sure. So glad you finally got it!!

The version of release was by far the best i ever saw live.,,is up there with the verona 06 one that all knows....and especially why they did it...i hope it make the guy ,who wait 4 days in the ga line feel alittle better...
Then..inside job..what a version!!gleason message was something that put everyone 's hair up...how choose to feel,is how iam ..a feel fuckin awesome!!
Master of wars jammimg..the best shit i saw live..even better i felt at dublin 10 when they play and jam first time of the earth..
Light years for tragically hip..fast patriot..then the whole encore 1 is one of the best ever...i know was for alot of people was 1st time bee girl and let me sleep, not for me..and at the end black solo was amazing...and surrender is a really party song!!and all the way video and eddie singing ..just wow...

To each his/her own, but I disagree. I thought the setlist was very cohesive, coherent, thoughtful, purposeful; I felt Ed was trying to convey a message with this setlist, and he succeeded.

I'm totally fine with covers (and I say that as someone who thinks Crazy Mary is a momentum-killer) -- especially when they play the hell out of them like they did last night. The guys are music geeks; if they enjoy playing these songs, I am happy to listen.
