Offer 10c Merch Pre-Order's - Stop the Madness
Comments

I imagine that they would print posters to demand similar to how they do preorders for vinyl. I imagine many more happy 10 Clubbers that can then skip the line and enjoy the city. Just framing it up that this is in the 10c's best interest to satisfy member demand. And yes, there was a petition for the same thing months ago. Perhaps if we speak loudly enough our club may hear our collective voices no matter how many threads it takes to break through. Drop the leash (lines)...0

Should they use a site like the one below to pre-order merch and just collect it at the shows.

I concur with the OP.0

How much does a ticket cost? Pretty sure you can make that back flipping merch, especially if you don't actually care about the show.dcp3y said:+1...out of hand going way back. Sidewalk sales just invite flippers, vs in the venue you at least have a ticket. Stop the madness!
I like the idea of a pre-sale for 10 club ticket winners. That will solve the problem for...a couple thousand people each show? Forget the rest of the fans, as long as the 10c members (who won tickets, not the unlucky ones) are happy, right?"I'm a lucky man, to count on both hands the [shows I've done]. Some folks just have one, others they got none..."

It would be nice if they did a blind pre-order. No refunds. If you ask for a refund you get your membership banned for a year, and you still get no refund.NYC 06/24/08-Auckland 11/27/09-Chch 11/29/09-Newark 05/18/10-Atlanta 09/22/12-Chicago 07/19/13-Brooklyn 10/18/13 & 10/19/13-Hartford 10/25/13-Baltimore 10/27/13-Auckland 1/17/14-GC 1/19/14-Melbourne 1/24/14-Sydney 1/26/14-Amsterdam 6/16/14 & 6/17/14-Milan 6/20/14-Berlin 6/26/14-Leeds 7/8/14-Milton Keynes 7/11/14-St. Louis 10/3/14-NYC 9/26/15

I think they did the presale for posters in 09. The merch madness wasn't nearly as crazy then.
Maybe it helps but it doesn't halt demand. I can see all the complaining about having to buy sight unseen and not liking the poster.
Scalpers/flippers aren't stupid. They will just buy up multiple fan club memberships. I'm sure they already do this.0 -

People who are willing to wait in line for 7 hours for a poster with Harry Carey and Molly Ringwald on it ?
DESERVE to wait in line for 7 hours.

That they might have filmed it as well. But, they filmed the GA line, which is what they played on the screens during the show, at least part of it. It could have been a combo of both as well. I just know my friend wasn't in the merch line, but was in the GA line, and I saw him on that little short video they showed.LeafsJaysCubsRaptorsFan said:

The only reason i mentioned the method of how it was done is because i was standing in the merch line as they walked by with the extended stick with the camera on it..actually.EM194007 said:

That's cool, wasn't trying to say anything in a negative way. Seems like they filmed both the merch and GA lines. Wouldn't catch me waiting in line for hours for merch, I wouldn't wait that long for a table at a top notch restaurant either. But, I wasn't kidding on April not being that hot though, it was actually a comfortable day for S. FL, we had a cool front come through. The high was 84 and the low was 66 on April 8th.Noload said:

Wanted to dig a thread up about this topic for upcoming shows. Hope the Tenclub would explore this idea. If you won Tenclub tixs you could preorder poster, T-shirt and stickers to those shows? This would free up your hands to drink more beer at shows. Ha!0

See you guys in line @ Fenway lol0

Merch is rediculous, I quit buying anything at shows. I am not there for Merch, so it wastes too much time. Quite frankly, everything has been more enjoyable since I stopped buying that junk. I used to love collecting that stuff until it took up too much time, expenses to keep it prestine in storage, etc.

If I had a product that people lined up outside in the heat for days at a time to buy it all I’d never change the way it was sold.0

Amen to this thread. I spent a combined 8 hours in line at my last two shows. Im done with that. I will try to just go in when doors open to grab an item or two, that usually has taken me no more than 30 mins. I really dig those that feel the need to try on every single item 2x and inspect every nook and cranny for damage. I’d pay double to avoid the line.0

Exactly. The thread ends here. Like I said 2 years ago - the pop up shops and merch tents set up days before a show are calculated and intentional. Pearl Jam has no reason to change things. It’s part of their image and marketing. “Our fans are crazy and awesome and dedicated and wait for hours to buy our stuff.”Uniondale, NY 04/30/03 - Camden, NJ 07/05/03 - MSG 07/08/03 - Reading, PA 10/01/04 - Philly 10/03/05 - Ed Sullivan Theatre 05/04/06 - MSG 06/25/08 - MSG 05/21/10 - NYC (EV solo) 06/21/11 - Montreal 09/07/11 - Brooklyn 10/18/13 - Central Park 09/26/15 - Philly 04/29/16 - MSG 05/01/16 - MSG 05/02/16 - Fenway 08/05/16 - Fenway 09/02/18 - Fenway 09/04/180 -
That doesn't mean the fans cant, or shouldn't, ask for a better way0

Go around the city and look far advertisement banners and flyers for the shows, and attempt to obtain one. I’ve seen quite a few around Seattle. Then you won’t have to wait 1000 hours to get a poster0
-
I would be willing to pay double through a preorder. I'd order blindly too. They should offer a bundle - show specific poster, pin and sticker. Charge $100.0
