I was thinking the same thing. Next time play Miller Park! You always know the show (or game) will go on there. Not the same ambiance but hell we just want to hear them play!
Ha ha ... the point of playing Wrigley is to play Wrigley

Double header on Monday. Noon 1st show, 730 second. Let's play two.

That's what I'm hearing. No joke. Historic!
That would really blow my mind. Ernie banks would love it.
EV could totally sing for 6 hours in one day..

although i guess we would get really long jams in ef and rvm

Dark sky forecast is looking promising. 56% chance light rain through day ending around show time. Probably won't have a real accurate idea until Thurs or Fri, but I think we can bag the cancelation talk.

Don't poke the weather gods! As I type this, we have 82 hours until showtime. How many times has a weather forecast changed 72 hours out? 48 hours out? Usually they can get it right a day in advance. Forecasting storms seems a lot more difficult than forecasting "dry and warm for the weekend".
It would be a pretty symbolic event if the skies clear just as the music is starting... let's see what happens. I'm not going to allow myself to get too itchy about the forecast until Thursday.

    According to weather.com:

Scattered thunderstorms during the evening, then cloudy skies overnight

    This sounds better than before.

Again, it depends on when the storms are supposed to dissipate. A downpour all day until 6 p.m. doesn't really bother me. It's what happens between 8 and 11.

I've actually been more encouraged looking at various forecasts today than I was yesterday.

Hi, I live here in Chicago and I can tell you they have been calling for rain nearly every day for the last two days and we have seen very, very little. I am completely optimistic that it'll be perfect weather for the show Saturday. :)

remember when looking at forecasts to look at 60613 Chicago, the zip code Wrigley's in. Chicago is a big enough where the weather could very well be different depending on where you are.

Or use Dark Sky for Wrigley address, or some of the hyper-local forecasting tools. Size of town + lake also makes it hard to predict.

Wrigley 2013 was an experience, but it did suck that they had to cut the set short, especially because when a set gets cut, it's always the rarities that go (fucking Other Side!?).

They have a buffer for Saturday this time. I think if it's like last time, they would push the show until Sunday. That wasn't an option last time because there was another concert on Sunday.

No chance of moving it back. I like how people think it's just a quick change on moving the date back one day.
It's not optimal, but I don't see how it's impossible.
I don't see either and I Think that's why the space between shows was put like that. I mean they have to pay all the Wrigley crew/employees etc to work on Sunday, but really it seems like they would have been warned it was a possibility.

Oh man. It's like deja vu (except I'm not sweating it personally this time). I feel like I read this thread 3 years ago! ...... FWIW, the weather reports this far out in 2013 were pretty spot on. It happened exactly like they said and everybody feared it would. :worried: Nevertheless, weather can change on a dime!
