That's a bit misleading. They have had different ones out for years.
yeah, apparently they have.... its not the highest of quality either from what I read
Nope, they aren't. Issues with video latency and poor audio. This 80 game version is the same 'AtGames' brand console that is out now with the games swapped out, so I think a swing and a miss from Sega (at least comparatively speaking).

This gets released one week from today. IGN gave it a 7.5 out of ten and says it has a painfully short controller.

Ordered a few classic controllers so that I'm not pissed when I order and see it only comes with one controller. (Always be prepared!)

Sucks that the cords are short ... I sold my 13" Zenith and bean bag chair years ago.

Only Nintendo could lack the foresight that we now have 80" 4K TVs now.

It's actually making me not want to buy one anymore. They need to make an adapter to extend the cord. I think one sold for wii might work.

there are no pre-orders for this, right? They are going to play the whole Nintendo scarce-supply game to get everyone going to stores over the holidays?

Only Nintendo could lack the foresight to make 20 million of these in time for Xmas.

When it was announced, I immediately signed up for updates at amazon, best buy, and gamestop and there has been nothing, while everything else this day and age seems to have a good pre-order supply.

The small controllers are a bummer. Otherwise, this is a no brainer. I am a sucker for the retro stuff like this, especially an 'official'/authentic one.

Holy crap that is incredibly stupid. Shorter then a yard stick? What, it would have cost them an extra $0.23 per unit to make it 8 feet?

That's ridiculous. Weren't the original NES cords longer than that? I love how they thought of the ways to make this work on a widescreen HDTV, yet they didn't realize people don't sit 3 feet from their TVs. My couch is like 8 feet from my TV. I guess I"m going to have to get an extra long HDMI cord, and put the NES mini box on my coffee table directly in front of me....
    So dumb Nintendo!

    On Amazon:
Two (2) Controllers Bundle For Nintendo NES Game System Bulk Packaging [Pack Of 2]
    by Generic
    Price: $8.00

Guessing they are crappy but not sure how much I will play and I can always order more if they are. Probably still have some originals at my childhood home as well.

Just saw this there as well:

Pretty cool, but the controller thing looks bloody annoying. We got the NES in 1987 & I remember we set it on the floor in front of the TV. Maybe that's also part of the nostalgia?

Seriously, the majority of gamers arent rockin' 19" -25" TV's anymore.
The short cords do no good when being up that close will make the picture look like shit.

If they were cordless there would be an increase in TV sales because we would be throwing the controller at the damn TV when the game cheats! You all know what I'm talking about! Like when you press the jump button and hold it down and Mario decides to do a bunny hop instead of a long jump...Grrrrrrrr.

All this complaining over a $70 game console is amusing.

Well the console looked amazing but if it's not functional then it doesn't really matter how much it costs
