Typical festival sets are great for typical festivals, but considering people are paying something around a $1400 premium for this, that schedule is pretty underwhelming. (I think I read somewhere that 3 nights / 4 days at the same resort would run about $1400 or $1500).
Tool could easily play a 2 hour set Friday and Sunday what with this being THEIR destination festival & all, but OTOH, it is Tool we’re talking about, so I can’t say I’m all that surprised.

remembber this is tool we're talking about here. can you point to something in recent band history that showed they gave a fuck about fans and their experience?
You clearly missed the end where I wrote "it is Tool we’re talking about, so I can’t say I’m all that surprised."
    yeah caught that....

point still holds though for readers wondering the same as your beginning.

Well.  They don't allow phone use during the show (until the last song).  That enhances my experience greatly.  But that's just me

If Tool were to play their standard 2.25 hours with their short intermission, it wouldn’t be so bad. But 90 minute sets is pretty bad, plus to have other major acts only getting one hour is also pretty bad. But a lot of the dislike is representative of the fan base. Phish and dead heads love these festivals, Tool fans not so much.

As a comparison, the Dead Ahead festival is basically Bobby Weir plus a cover band. It’s a five day festival so the cost is a couple thousand dollars more, but Bobby is playing three shows, and he will be on the stage for three hours each show.

also as a comparison, when mmj did their festival down there they played 7 albums over 3 nights.  close to 10 hours of stage time total.
This show, another show, a show here and a show there.

I could argue its secondary to them not wanting flashes or video lights on all the time. shit can be blinding.

attended a kpop show with my wife.  the group had its fans light em up. felt like the house lights were on....
