I don't think it's so much that it's cheating but I do think it gives the person an advantage over everyone else. Its a very small advantage but still an advantage.

I feel like if you thought / knew what you were doing was underhanded you probably wouldn't have shared it so freely. You weren't the only one using this trick, and if I didn't know better, I would think there's a couple people who commented that were doing the same thing and are pissed you just ruined it for them.
The name calling is unnecessary and disappointing, but the reaction is also par for the course around here. This forum has more cliques than my high school (which is pathetic considering most people on here are almost certainly of adult age, with a significant percentage in their 30s & 40s). Combine that with the sad reality of how seriously we all take these poster sales (I'm as guilty of this as anyone else) and I'm surprised the reaction wasn't worse.
Like ident42 said, try not to take it personally. You apologized more than once for all the feelings you hurt. That's good enough for me.
Maybe 10c will mix things up and not use the next available item number. I think this gains a small advantage but it's not like the OP was using a bot.

I went to the poster page, and clicked on the link for the Philly 1 poster. That poster's item number was 4467. Yesterday's Philly 2 poster was item #4468. So I used the same url as the Philly 1 poster, but changed 4467 to 4469, which was obviously going to be today's item number. I had one screen open on this, next to a different page I was randomly surfing on the internet for fun. Every 10-30 seconds, I would go to the poster page click command-r (I'm on a mac). All of the sudden the Owl showed up, and I bought it.

Hope you do as well. I put in an order back in early May for like 3 posters and a few other things in the shop. Got everything except one poster. Tracking stopped at 5/13, called both UPS and USPS, and both denied having the package. Luckily, 10C reshipped, so hopefully whatever mail carrier has it in the end doesn't flub it up....again...

Sarava shared info that was nothing more than BASIC INTERNET SURFING 101. There was absolutely no "advantage over everyone else." We are all capable of paying attention to our surroundings, which is all that Sarava was doing. To pretend that Sarava had ANY sort of unfair advantage is insane. There is no way in hell that this should be called cheating, because EVERYONE had equal access to the information that Sarava shared. If you didn't pay attention or didn't notice, that doesn't mean it's "unfair."

Definitely not cheating. If he hacked the system that would be a different story. Nothing liked that happened here. Sometimes it's like a Salem witch trial around here.
