Disappointing show for me. Aside from NAIS, Light Years, and Of the Girl, I don't like Binaural. As soon as I heard Breakerfall, I was worried that this was happening, and the rest of the album took a lot of steam out of the night for me and most around me. Everyone was itching for a something to sing along too, but had to wait a looooong time.

I know the "hard core" fans were making puddles over this, but I believe you are the minority at the shows. Most people want to hear songs they know. I at least know these songs, I just don't like them.

After the first 5 albums, there are 2-3 great songs on the rest of the albums. Say what you want about me, but this was my least favorite show out of 5. They really need to stop reading these boards or else they'll be playing nothing but obscure songs for the "collectors."

Legendary...The reason I've seen the band 23 times and the reason I'll be there Thursday.

Really hope they skip all the boring **** on Thursday.

It would be nice to see "your setlist" but you have to keep in mind that 80 % of the audience are not "die hards" like you!

    Exactly.
Everyone's entitled to an opinion, but sometime I don't get it. What songs would make these people happy??

Just got home after seeing the band for the first time in (almost) 25 years. This time I knew who the band was (hadn't yet heard of them when I saw them open for the RHCP, lol).

Wow, what a show. When they opened the way they did I wondered if we were in for a full album, but I'll admit it wasn't until the uke came out that it occurred to me that we were getting Binaural (bad fan, slaps my own hands, lol).

As for the "standards," it didn't bother me one bit, since I hadn't heard most of the catalogue in person, and the band was on point tonight.

Highlights for me: NAIS, the Corduroy breakdown, Comfortably Numb (haven't heard it that good since the Floyd in '94), Even Flow rocked more than it did in '91, Rockin' was, well, ROCKING (I'll be looking into Grantis' work now).

And Let Me Sleep appearing out of nowhere was possibly my favourite moment of the show.

Thanks to the band for making this twit happy, and Ten Club for some more than decent seats, and also the crowd for bringing it as well.

If I have any complaint, it was that I couldn't hear Boom much, not sure if that was the acoustics of my seat, or the mix. More Boom, please!

Can't wait for Thursday now, kind of glad for the day off to recover, lol.

    Jam on, everyone!

Mike was crazy tonight. His solos were intense, and definitely the highlight of the night for me

And Jeff was crushing tonight too. Ed's voice sounded great when he actually had songs that require singing instead of yelling

Binaural's probably not one of my most listened to albums, I won't pretend it is now. But there are obviously some songs I like a ton from it and I am super grateful to have been a part of this special night.
The thing I found to be ironic is that, as mentioned above, I could look around and see people disregarding songs like Of the Girl, Sleight of Hand, and NAIS. And I'm sure there are people who have been to dozens of concerts and haven't caught a whiff of those beauties.
So I can't help but wonder if a majority of the casual crowd was disappointed or at least felt lost but still enjoyed.
Me on the other hand.... oof. Won't be forgetting that one. Can't wait for Thursday now that's for sure

Amazing show. Hearing Binaural was was epic.... even if you don't love the album as much as you do other albums (I myself all into this category), it's pretty cool to see something like that. Will we ever have a setlist as obscure and rare as this for the rest of our lives? I doubt it. So it's pretty incredible to be a part of that especially if you're going again Thurs.

We knew the encores would be hit filled, but they delivered. Porch seems to get better every time they play it live. And like others said, Mike and Jeff were F*#$ing on FIRE. Killer show.

Did I see a crowd surfer (who was quickly pulled over the rail, it seemed) during (I think) Alive?

Wonder if I should just edit my first post instead of adding random rememberances as they occur, lol?

I am truly jealous of Toronto tonight. Holy fucking shit. Binaural. Wish I was there.
  • This was my 25th show and this is right up there at the top of my list of favorite shows. I had a feeling Binaural could happen in Toronto after seeing more songs surface in recent setlists. This was a dream come true and I can't wait for Thursday.
