No Code arrived safely in Portland. No warp that I can see. I'll give it a spin today or tomorrow to see how it sounds

I only bought Hail Hail which I got weeks ago locally but am I right in thinking that all these tracks As and Bs have been remastered as well since Who you are is the version with different lyrics. I'm just looking for a reason to justify buying the others.

I did a quick A/B test between my original copy of Yield and the remastered version.

Original was slightly louder with a little wider soundstage but had a lot of silibance on Ed's vocals, I am assuming due to the mix. didn't hear it on the new version. Jeff's bass was not quite as defined on the OG and this was apparent on the quieter songs like "All Those Yesterdays" in particular.

New Version was definitely tweaked for vinyl as the sound floor starts lower and is adjustable. I guess this was due to the OG being brickwalled or taken from the same source as the CD. New version has slightly better definition on the distorted guitars that is most audible once again on the slower songs.

I did not listen thru headphones as this wasn't a "planned" or scientific test on my part. Just one listeners opinion. I am glad that they took the time to do this right unlike the Ten, Vs and Vitalogy disappointments. Anyone who has the new Version of Yield should be satisfied enough not to need the OG unless you are just a completist.

disclaimer- I have never been impressed by the OG version of Yield on vinyl so I might be biased. once again not a scientific test by any means.

  • I too have never been impressed by the original pressing of Yield. I agree with your assessment of the new pressing. I think there is better instrument separation on the original, new pressing seems a touch better in the other aspects.

Still nothing here. Yield finally made it to the USPS yesterday after 11 days on the pony express, so hopefully I get it by Saturday. No Code is still shows "Shipment information received by UPS Mail Innovations" on 9/2. No other updates. Seriously this is fucking ridiculous.

Dallas must be the staging area for most of Texas. Mine says its been sitting there "processing" for two days now. Unacceptable.
Of course we hear absolutely nothing from anyone from 10C.

No Code and all five 7"s arrived here in FL a few days ago. Two separate which was a pleasant surprise.

Says my 7 is already at usps in Carrolton, and my Yield is out for delivery today. No Code? STILL in Seattle. Label created the 2nd.

I received Yield today, but I did not receive No Code or my single. Hopefully tomorrow. Seems odd they did not ship together. It was great to smell new vinyl. The outer packaging has it own fragrance, and then the actual vinyl brings it home. Hmmmm, I love new vinyl smell. Just kidding but it does smell good. Thank you for your time. Peace, D

Yield processed on 9/1, shipped out of Seattle on 9/7, and sitting at the same facility in Bell Gardens, CA since 9/10. That's okay though - tracking says it's getting delivered to me in Las Vegas on 9/12. :pensive:

Yield just arrived and an entire corner is smashed and folded over.
This show, another show, a show here and a show there.
  • I am starting to think No Code and singles were packaged together. As if 10C created all the labels then decided to stick in just one package. That may be why those of us who ordered all are seeing all those tracking numbers that don't leave warehouse. I say this because single weight .0375 but single sent weight is 1.someting.

im sort of wondering about not ordering and getting the singles, especially the red black and yellow one. it's fine though...I know what all those songs sound like and for the life of me, I don't get 45 RPMs as audiophile. I'd rather listen to the CD.

that missing single is available at popmartket for 9 something.

I finally just order a No Code from Soundstage direct. Free shipping and solid packaging. Stoked to get it! Might have spent abit too much on a bunch of other stuff too.

Same thing here, smashed upper left corner. Pretty good dent in bottom right corner. I'm not usually super particular, but of the 8-10 albums I've ordered this year, this is in the worst shape. Will be emailing them for sure.
