    They clearly decided to change the tone of the live shows since the Bush years ended... I think they decided to focus on making the shows fun and inclusive and made a conscious decision to drop the political banter... why alienate audience members that might disagree with your politics? $20 says this was a real discussion & decision by the band... obviously Ed is going to say something on stage once in a while, like Milton Keynes 2014. but there is a clear difference at the shows in banter and song selection... which is fine because Ed saying something on stage doesn't change a thing... and neither does playing Insignificance or any other song, I just want them to play them because they are great songs, not because I think they will make any difference in the world

    yes because he protested the war when the Republicans were in office, now that his buddy is in, he doesn't, and one has nothing to do with the other, you give people props when they do something good, and call them on it when they do something inconsistent. I have never voted Republican either, but the war machine hasn't slowed down, and many of the promises have turned into lies, so it gives the appearance of being extremely hypocritical, because of the inconsistency.
