Got thrown in the same pile with all the other insignificant filler tracks that overstayed their welcome during the album's tour and the couple of tours following it.

filler tracks? obviously much different tastes in music, that sounds like a standard canned response, according to your logic, they view the whole Binaural album as filler tracks, that's beyond dumb
Hank... You seem to be really argumentative with people in this thread. Which kind of follows the pattern of your visits here. You start off mellow, then start a bunch of threads where you get frustrated with people and then you post that you're done with the boards for good. Why not ease off the accelerator a little and pace yourself here. Stick around awhile and enjoy this place.
whatever dude, name me one song on Binaural that gets played regularly anymore?
Light Years has 3 plays this tour. That's probably it.

It does seem that shows have been LESS political this tour (aside from the NC boycott). It's an election year and you'd think that would be the perfect excuse to be MORE political. Remember the Vote for Change tour and the hared for NeoCons? Isn't what the GOP is considering now worse? Not making any judgements, just an observation...
I smile, but who am I kidding...

^This, I am a Socialist too, so I am for equality and I care about all human lives, and Insignificance always resonated with me for that reason, maybe Binaural & Riot Act aren't played because they weren't made with their current producers, Ten they kind of have to play due to it's popularity

They used to get a lot of pushback when they talked a lot of politics. I remember plenty on this board. I've been to 2 shows this tour -used to go to more (4-8), but it seems like Ed works in a couple comments maybe 1 time during the show and that's it. Maybe trying to seek a balance between those of us who are fine with the political commentary, and those who'd prefer none at all. (I'm fine with it, tend to lean in the same direction, but not everyone does)

    R.i.p. Rigoberto Alpizar.
    R.i.p. My Dad - May 28, 2007
    R.i.p. Black Tail (cat) - Sept. 20, 2008

i get it, there is some serious stuff happening in the world with lack of freedoms in usa, and major war threats going on. It is so overwhelming how much wrong is in the world, is there more positive than negative in the world? or are all the positives built on the negatives burying tragedy in history and in third worlds. PJ probably got burnt out. I hope they end their break if thats the case. It so easy to feel apathetic in the western world away from problems in the world.

are you listening to the same shows I am? It has been played 7 times total since 2010, including one time in 2015, and one time in 2016

I'm talking about what I've heard here and there. I don't follow stats.

Still not sure if you're upset over the lack of Binaural in general or the song in particular. Thread's been zigging and zagging.

By the way, one need not be a Socialist to give a shit about equality and their fellow man.

    Just FYI.

I'm not sure apathy is a proper assessment. People live, lose, hurt, change, express themselves differently.

I look at songs like Rise, Amongst the Waves, several others, as hopeful in the midst of this world's shit. And it's beautiful.

It's funny, but this demanding of political talk and songs is as selfish and disrespectful (to me, anyway) as those who scream "just shut up and sing".

Let 'em be! Let 'em do!

it's not political, that is a cop out, it is about the value of human lives, if you don't value the lives of innocent people getting killed, then I find that disrespectful, so it is all a matter of perspective

Do you guys have any clue about what's been going on in Greece (my country), at least, for the last 6 years? The IMF, in collaboration with the EU, have been slaughtering the whole nation. We're talking about some serious economic war here. I just wanted to offer additional evidence.

War isn't about politics? Is never about politics? Oy.

And, just curious - what makes you think Pearl Jam or those who post in these forums don't appreciate life, and mourn loss? Because a SONG hasn't been played at a concert?

Dude, you can use your own words, you know.

Passive-aggressive quotes don't carry much weight...especially when attempting to call someone who has another view "stupid".

Tsk tsk, Hank. No need to be rude.
