    This is his hosting company...

    http://www.lunarpages.com/dedicated-hosting/

$1000 is steep, and I was exaggerating... he needs one of these if he doesn't have one already... load balancing is another 100 a month

maybe i should email them since the bostonlou magic worked with paypal ;)

I think he was trying to give everyone a chance. Even those who work during the week, or those overseas who have to get up at odd hours for the launch. At least launching on a Saturday it's Sunday in Oz, still time to recover a bit before the work week begins.

I work in IT QA. Shit happens. No matter how well you test when you go live all bets are off and anything can happen. And i know how awful one feels when you have to tell your customers they'll have to wait again.

Chin up Brad. Eventually all the glitches will just be a memory.

    Peace,
    KJ

It is Sunday in Oz, albeit 5am (now 5:30), all rugged up coz its fucking cold :D

Good luck all for the third one, maybe we should all chip in and get Brad one of those Thai full body-to-body massages to relax...

This isnt a case of fast or slow connections...

In this case, no, but if/when the site is capable of handling the traffic, would a faster connection be more advantageous over a slower connection?

I genuinly have no idea, hence the questions.

Sure faster is better but it gets to a point where it doesn't matter. Someone with a 30MB fiber line could be shut out and someone with a 700kbs DSL connection could get in fine... there are many variables and speed is only part of the equation :)

Im not trying to tell you how to host your site at all but perhaps there are some other hosting companies that may be able to manage your traffic for this sale a bit better...

    These guys come to mind...

    Brad Klausen Unleashes Artillery Design

As a teenager, Seattlest loved posters. We plastered Miami Vice stills rock gods, Tiger Beat pages swimsuit models and sports stars on our walls with tacks, tape and that white boogery stuff. Some boys grow up and out of the phase. Others become obsessed with poster art, set up savings accounts for Flatstock, and bitch about those who “flip,”—resell high-demand gig posters—for a steep profit. (We fall somewhere in between.) Artillery Design, a new site from Seattle-based artist extraordinaire Brad Klausen, should satisfy the latter group.

Klausen is synonymous with Pearl Jam. He and the folks at Ames Bros. have a Ticketmaster-like monopoly on the band’s image, and that’s a good thing.

Klausen is awesome. Just look at this crimson beauty for PJ’s recent Dusseldorf show.

Klausen is coveted. The poster at left goes for around $150 on eBay. We’re guessing it sold at the show for $25 US dollars. For most people, auctions are the only purchase option—and sellers know it. (Some collectors—and flippers—will be pissed that we advertised Artillery’s launch, ‘cause it could mean one less poster for them.)

Sadly, per a note from Klausen, “Until PayPal approves my application, I cannot accept payment.” And: “For now, all the posters are listed as SOLD OUT. (Keep in mind that some actually are sold out.)” We won’t even guess how much he’s asking for these babies. Or which of them will actually be available. Or what, if anything, will be signed and numbered.

Happily, he hopes to have his work officially up for sale today or tomorrow. Looks like it’s time for a payday loan, boys.
    Everybody made a movie....
