No it is ridiculous. Smart move to launch your site when the web engineers can't be reached.

    Hey

So, there sure are a lot fo you...there's so much traffic, we can't even get into the backend of the site without issues. The site has crashed.

I can't beleive i am even going to type this...but the sale will have to be postponed yet again until we can resolve this issue. I extremely sorry for this happening yet again, the traffic was just too much...i know there are a lot of you interested in buying some posters and I informed my web builders that there would be a ton of traffic for the launch and they seemed prepared as far as servers and bandwith...however, apparently not prepared enough. We will not be able to resolve this problem until monday at the earliest due to the fact that the web hoster cannot be reached on weekends. Figures.

To everyone overseas who has stayed up into the early morning hours again, i cannot apologize to you enough. I am really sorry this has happened. We will get this resolved, i know your time is valuable and i feel really awful right now...this is becoming ridiculous.

I will send out an email and post here when we are ready to resume....third time's a charm right?

Words cannot express how sorry i am for wasting even more of everyone's time.

    Sincerely
    Brad

Its late, very late but BK must be a freakin mess dealing with this, do not stress it will all be ok, well see you for round three.

Thanks for the update and goodnight

    Hey Brad,
You might need to entertain the thought of going the "email me at 12 noon PT and not a second before" route. Might be less stressful for all.

Says the gal who's had a 50/50 success rate with email sales, but at least then at 12:01 I know I've done all I can.

    Peace,

    Nice. (Sarcasm intended)

Perhaps he should launch his site during the week sometime while everyone is at work and cant get to a computer.

  • just dont have a launch time. just launch it at some random ass time, people are always checking the site. word will spread fast through the various pj/poster sites. your posters will sell out in a couple hours VS a couple minutes.

i appreciated the announcement. only 16 mins after the sale time too. a tiny part of me was afraid i was gonna be hitting refresh all afternoon long. so very little time 'wasted'. thanks brad. and good luck.

    little time wasted?

what about being at a computer on consecutive saturdays?

    i appreciate the communication

but wish someone had listened to brad and taken the traffic issue seriously prior to it actually happening

i just want to see this little green beautiy god dammit!! :)

i am a big fan of the email request as used by Emek this week, however Brad will have to fix his email issues first :) but it only takes about three seconds then wait for a response.

Or maybe announce an on-sale date/time for 1 poster at a time

if you read his original posts, he said this was impossible (selling one at a time), he doesn't have a 10c like crew ready to whip these out day after day ... it's a small operation, that's why he wanted to do it all at once, only one shipping effort.

it'll be intersting to see what comes of this ... good luck to all ... and mostly to BK ..

Or just rent one for the launch...is that possible? over $1k/month seems a little steep.

Good luck to all when this happens.

    or sell them on amazon...

I think he was trying to give everyone a chance. Even those who work during the week, or those overseas who have to get up at odd hours for the launch. At least launching on a Saturday it's Sunday in Oz, still time to recover a bit before the work week begins.

I work in IT QA. Shit happens. No matter how well you test when you go live all bets are off and anything can happen. And i know how awful one feels when you have to tell your customers they'll have to wait again.

Chin up Brad. Eventually all the glitches will just be a memory.

$1000 is steep, and I was exaggerating... he needs one of these if he doesn't have one already... load balancing is another 100 a month
