How do you keep people from gathering before the allowed lineup time and then, while keeping order....allow people to lineup? It can't be anything other than a cluster f^ck.

mrtsurt - @dottles_lm there are two reasons for the arrow line directions. 1) Safety. This is the most important thing. Running the lines these directions achieve that. 2) Running the lines in a specific way helps avoid affecting surrounding businesses. We should respect all of the surrounding companies.
Chris Siglin was responding to a comment I made to him about the rapid nature of PJ fans now in their quest for merch. I said I thought it was sad that they had even had to devise queuing routes and advise that there were times people could not queue before, despite the merch stands not opening until midday. I can't remember the thirst for merch being as bad as it is now, and I am not sure it is so bad here in Europe. I recognise people see it as an opportunity to flip stuff, but I genuinely think that a lot of the general public have no idea PJ are still together let alone how much a pair of flip flops are worth on ebay. I do like the idea of having a merch booth associated with 10C ticket pick up - you get your tickets and then are allowed into a queue for merch. I recognise that many people who missed out on 10C tickets might feel that sting, however, it would reduce the number of people at other stands. I'm not sure there is any easy way to resolve the situation. If the band add in additional time for people to buy merch there are concerns that flippers will buy before fans arriving for the show, if they sell it only in the venues then there are concerns that causes issues inside, if they do a 10c linked ticket purchase it could be seen as benefitting the few. Imagine shows where they sold no merch, that would be a revelation!
From what I saw the merch thirst is nowhere NEAR as bad in Europe as it is here. Same with Australia and New Zealand. It's beyond insane here. The only solution I can think of is for them to print more of everything, substantially more. Flood the market with readily available official merch, reduces the resale/aftermarket value, in short order the flippers will cease flipping as their profits dwindle. It puts PJ in an uncomfortable spot though, because they will have to put up more capital upfront to print in larger quantities, and then they're stuck with whatever doesn't sell.
flooding the market and reducing demand increases the chances of left over unsold merch which is absolutely what a band doesnt want. Its a very fine balance, and the hype and desire is what drives the merch success. I was a Springsteen show recently and there wasnt a single soul at the merch desk. No one. I bet a lot of acts would be delighted to have what PJ have created. Its incredible really.
And the Sox are only 2 back in the loss column for the division. There is no dominant team in the AL east, or the whole american league for that matter. Whoever gets hot towards the end of September will win the division, methinks.
Hey I am a noob with this and this is my first PJ show. I have a few questions about merch as it seems like it is going to be crazy. I went to FF @ Fenway last year and merch was not a problem. I didn't even go to the pop-up stores (or know about them). Every merch table I saw inside and out had all posters/shirts/stickers I wanted.
Now I know that this will be a different type of monster and I plan on trying to get my stuff on Tuesday. If I get there 8-9am and wait...do you think I will have a chance at getting what I want? Do I even need to go that early? Will it be crazy? I am only going to the 2nd show so do they usually have shirts and stickers specific to each night or just the general shows (or both). FF had 2 posters for night 1, 2 for night 2 and 1 for the weekend. Do you think it will be similar? I only get posters/shirts for the shows I actually go to so I will just be going after general weekend stuff/night 2
Finally...will any of this stuff show up online? I just want to make sure I have everything I want before the show so I don't have to worry about shopping or carrying stuff around.
My flight in Friday lands too late (3pm) to get checked into the hotel and to get Merch...
I was HOPING someone who was planning on hitting Merch Friday would be willing to grab me an extra posted Friday. Willing to Trade a Sunday poster (assuming they're different) or pay cash + reasonable "effort/finders fee" so I can have one of each to get framed (I'm going to both Friday and Sunday's shows)

Posters will most likely be available in the 10C store. The latest practice has been random drops, so you'll need to pay attention to the store and the boards. Typically 10am Pacific time but the 2016 posters have been dropped at different times throughout the day. You can also subsrcibe to the artists' websites/newsletters for signed/numbered versions. Those are usually sold within a few days after the show. Highly doubtful anything else will be available here.
I saw a pic of one of the posters and it had both Aug 5 & 7 dates on it. So there will be at least one for the whole weekend. Whether the other 4 are for the weekend, or 2 for each night, or 1 for each night & 3 for the weekend...who knows?!
I would get in line as soon as you possibly can. A 4-hour wait before the shop even opens up is brutal enough... but also expect to wait about an hour, if not more, for every 30 people in line ahead of you.

If it is the same one I saw it has been proven fake. It had two bats crossing each other with the infield laying overtop of them. Red and Black and White. It was shaped like a playing card and was fan made.
I am still disappointed by Munk's absence. Maybe Wrigley...
