Why don't they offer an option to "pre-order" merchandise with 10C tickets? It seems like that would be a win-win for everyone, except the flippers.
Because they don't care. Not to mention a lot of flippers are 10C members funding their trips by buying extra merch.
When you see married couples at shows buying the max of everything do you think they're hanging all those?
Exactly. We have no one to blame but ourselves. You see it all the time...couples paying separately so they can each max out on the goods, people trolling the merch line asking if anyone can grab an extra poster, sticker, etc. for them. Others showing up 10 minutes before the merchandise goes on sale and seamlessly blending into the line with their buddies, not thinking twice about the line of people behind them that have been patiently waiting for hours.
I waited in the merchandise line near the 10C ticket pick-up windows at the ACC in September 2011, an experience that left me irritated by how selfish some people are. Many people have no regard for line etiquette, as the venue staff working the merchandise sales at the table have no time to monitor the orderliness of the line, which is definitely not their fault.
People picked up their tickets and simply joined the herd at the front of the line. I live in the Toronto area, so sight-seeing the day of the show wasn't a concern of mine. Merchandise sales have seemingly become a large source of revenue for the band and its employees.
Seeing as how just about every item is in demand nowadays, I think there should be a limit of 1 of something per item per customer prior to the show starting. Allowing people to hoard-buy merchandise when a line extends for hours is disrespectful to others waiting in the line.
I waited on that ACC merchandise line for between 1 - 2 hours. I will never ever wait on an extreme merchandise line ever again. I did meet some nice people while I waited, but the poster and Blue Jays t-shirt I purchased that afternoon never washed away the shame of waiting on a line for hours to buy concert merchandise.
I will pay upwards of $100 online later to acquire the poster if I like the artwork, if the art or the price is not for me, I'll pass and life will go on. The hours I didn't spend waiting on a line will instead be spent with life long friends pre-partying..... an experience that never leaves me irritated or feeling ashamed of myself
I'm not knocking the people that do decide to wait in a line for concert merchandise for hours..... just adding my experience and opinions to the discussion.
Enjoy the concert(s) and music everyone. Have a nice day
Not sure if this has been mentioned yet, but I got on the outside merch line yesterday around 5:30 and it was maybe 15 minute wait. There were tons of posters left (though I did have to scramble around inside for stickers and a button -inside vendors did not GAF about the per person limits). Mine was numbered 108xx which means they printed well over 10k. Hardly "limited", at least for Philly. Not sure if an Emek will be the same scenario, but if I don't score the same way tonight *shrug*.
I came in with the intent of not waiting in long lines for merch. Got 10 club tix at 515 and the line for the truck was 10 min so i picked up a poster. Inside there was a small merch stand in a corner with no line at all at about 8 pm picked up a key chain. Done deal no big line...the Mr had to pee during low light and he said lines were nonexistent anywhere...food beer or merch.
Thank you fellow 10 clubber for saving my ass....again!!!
Ugly key chain. looks like something attached to rental car keys or something.
I think that is the point. It's supposed to look like a hotel key chain. I like it for that fact.

'would never wait in line for it...... but respect to the creator for the amount of fine details in his work. Can we all just move beyond the skeletons and skulls motifs?

That's not what that means. The number isn't specific to that poster's run.

Most other multiple nights at the same venue just got a different color shirt on previous tours. This is a major change. I guess the MSG shows will both get unique shirts. That's smart move. More shirts will be sold.
