Thomas DiMassimo is a tool. He got arrested for disorderly conduct and inducing panic. Hopefully he serves a little time for it. Wish he'd seen the mean end of the taser as well. Protests outside of a venue are one thing (and I support them). Going into a building to shut down speech is another (and my support wanes). Rushing the stage to try to get past a secret service security detail to access a presidential candidate is an entirely different level and the guy should be made an example of.JimmyV said:

I won't acknowledge it because I don't believe it to be true. In fact I believe the opposite is happening. Trump is raising the concept of controlled immigration and you are shouting racism just to avoid the topic. Pretty much standard militant progressive behaviour.rgambs said:

You still haven't done anything at all to dispute the similarities in use of racist fearmongering to elevate himself and facism.
Easier to just say it's crazy than to actually deal with it.
In the last few years 124 illegal immigrants released from custody were later charged for committing 135 homicide-related crimes. See below...

You just brought attention to a real problem without generalizing all immigrants as scum. You could probably do the same with the issue of Islamic terrorism, though a total ban and registration of Muslims is inherently racist.
If Trump could do that, people would consider him a serious man, not a racist clown.
At the very least, you should be acknowledging that Trump's rhetoric is directed at and tailored for those who are unequivocally racist. The KKK nutties and all these bumfucks at these rallies are turning out for Trump, not for Cruz, who has similar takes on the issue. It is not a coincidence.Monkey Driven, Call this Living?0 -

I'm fine with interruptions and protests but rushing the stage is a threat.
I agree that rushing the stage was a bit over the top but it could also be argued that what Trump is all about is far more than simply over the top.
So let's look at this. If we could all agree that Trump is racist, misogynistic, hate mongering and power-hungry (it really hard to argue that he is not those things) and that this is what he is doing and spreading, what is the best way to bring attention to this? If someone is kicking a kitten or a baby or robbing an old lady on the street or killing whales in a whale sanctuary- those things are illegal so you do what it takes to stop them. But what do you do about something that is immoral like spreading hate and encouraging violence? Do you sit by idly and hope the guy will just go away? Or do you put your own well being and freedom at risk and take a stand?

It's not the approach I would take but I can see where sooner or later someone is going to react this way. Trump is all about provoking. That provocation often leads to the kind of blind acceptance we've seen in many of his supporters (thus the comparisons being made to Hitler and Nazism) and the outright (or at least consequential) acceptance of racism, misogyny and hatred Trump promotes or retaliation of the sort of thing DiMassimo did. If you're not in favor of at least the former, you're probably not going to vote for Trump. And even if you don't care for DiMassimo's tactics but still don't accept the negative qualities the man embraces, you probably won't vote for Trump.PJfanwillneverleave1 said:

If you're not in favor of at least the former, you're probably not going to vote for Trump. And even if you don't care for DiMassimo's tactics but still don't accept the negative qualities the man embraces, you probably won't vote for Trump.PJfanwillneverleave1 said:
I know what Trump means when he thinks that any protester who attempts violence should be met with a smack. This guy is a repugnant individual who does nothing except shit disturb.brianlux said:
If asking pertinent questions is disturbing shit then I guess you could say I'm disturbing shit. But carefully thought out and posed questions are also intended to stimulate the mind. Hopefully there is no correlation there.PJfanwillneverleave1 said:
come on man.brianlux said:In what way was DiMassimo inciting violence?
He was shit disturbing.
Kind of like this question.
Vote for change. Bum rushing a stage does nothing. Especially if it was a global warming speech.
But you're Canadian so you won't vote here anyway. Go home Canuck!
(You know I'm joking. In most ways, Canada is a marvelous country.)
He wouldn't be a good fit for us though - in fact our country would not allow his antics.
I love watching his campaign unfold and I wouldn't mind getting his autograph.
This Trump thing is comical and the world expects nothing less than a fiasco like this - only in America.0 -
You know what he meant and you know you like to egg people on. It's an odd hobby PJf.PJfanwillneverleave1 said:

Shouldn't you Love him? As a fellow shit disturber, I would think he would be your guy. You go around these threads chiming in with one liners supporting Trump, but you don't like the guy? Sounds like shit stirring to me.PJfanwillneverleave1 said:
Marvelous without Trump indeed!brianlux said:
