Your vote should be selfish? Yikes. I think that attitude is exactly what is wrong with the world today. Looking out for the common good is looking out for yourself too IMO, and especially for your kids' futures.

Actually the beauty is you can vote however you like based on any criteria you want.

The bad part is the same exact thing!!!
Sure, but my comment doesn't really have anything to do with the freedom to vote for whomever you want. I'm just talking about attitudes, and how a selfish attitude is bad for the world.
If 100 people vote on one issue.. 51 vote one way 49 the other.... The 51 get their way. The 49 don't. Unfortunatly and fortunately that's how it is.... Its selfish but its democracy...
Sure, but that also has nothing to do with what I'm saying (btw, this democracy you're talking about isn't even happening in the USA anyhow).
    Its not? How so?
I am talking about attitudes, not voting or democracy. I'm basically saying that I think the "look out for #1" attitude that is prevalent these days is bad for the world. Sure, some people vote a certain way because they have that attitude, which sucks, but I'm talking about the mindset behind it.

I still feel there is an element of racism even with our illegals. Nobody says deport the thousands of illegal Irish who come to the US every year.

That's true. There are TONS of white illegals in the US and no one seems to mind.
The same people do mind. It is your assumption that this is only about Latin American illegals is what is so off base.
Oh yeah? What makes you say that? Where is the evidence that that is really true? I've never really seen any. You aren't seriously trying to suggest that the same sentiments are being applied towards white illegals and Mexican or Muslim illegals, are you?? If you are, you're in la la land, or just making shit up.
Yes I am seriously trying to suggest that. It is the open borders crowd that wants to make this about race in order to avoid a discussion on illegal immigration altogether. That game is over. Yelling racism has lost the power it once had.
No it hasn't the way Trump presented himself onto the main stage was by saying racist crap or did you already forget it or it really doesn't matter anymore to you !
BS doesn't see racism, apparently it doesn't exist.
Trump assumes some Mexicans are good people so he clearly isn't a racist... :dizzy:

I wonder as well...it's a really interesting situation. The people are obviously there to support him for the most part. Gary Johnson is currently polling pretty high so that will likely take some of Trump's support away.

I like Johnson and I'm a Hillary supporter. I'm not sure if the Libertarian crowd is naturally a Trump supporter. I think it may depend on if your libertarian leanings are social or economic.

my support for Trump is really simple, who the heck else is there to vote for ? the way I see it Hell'ary is a dirty politician and Burney is no different than Obama (softer than a sneaker full of shit) and Trump....he's just bat shit crazy and is willing to stand up to all enemies domestic and foreign and I'm not sure how that will work out ??? but I do agree with many of his idea's for our country, I don't know where he stands with unions and everybody has their 2 cents on that but really I haven't seen or heard anything from HIM on unions.
the other two clowns Rubio and Cruz...my gut tells me they are bad news. so now it will surly come down to Trump or Clinton and she is the ultimate professional politician and that worries me but not as much as the dufus bro's Rubio and Cruz but with Clinton's dirty laundry thrown all over the media I don't think she has a chance.
I'm hoping for the best if Trump win's the election but believe me I have concerns as well.

That's a politician that I would support. I'm surprised that democrats and hard right republicans would go a libertarian route though. Johnson is a loud voice for the very least governmental intervention possible. He is a very close comparative to Ron Paul.

One thing I gotta give Trump is he's opened the door for non-politicians to have success in presidential elections. Ross Perot had a modicum of success running as a third-party candidate. But for Trump to flat-out win the Republican nomination fair and square? That changes everything going forward. It'll be interesting four years from now when Martin O'Malley and Snoop Dogg are battling it out for the Democratic nod lol

I have to say that I disagree with this statement. You are advocating small government and weak federal system. Libertarians believe all government intervention in the markets and people's lives are the issue. The doctrine if Free Will should not be encumbered by local interventionists either.

As a socialist, I would personally not even vote before voting libertarian. I do appreciate some of their viewpoints and at least understand where they're coming from with the viewpoints I don't appreciate, but obviously I strongly support provincial and/or federal government regulation and intervention when it comes to banks, healthcare, certain social programs, and several other things. I think libertarianism would be a complete disaster overall.
