How are shows from behind the stage?

Just scored two tickets behind the stage at MSG. Section 216. Is it worth it? How good or not good are shows from behind?

I love the view honestly. You are so much closer than most of the seats on the far end.

  • It depends on the venue, but more often that not they are great seats. You are very close to the band and can get a cool view of the crowd reaction. The key is having speakers face that way. I believe PJ does put them back there.

.....which I'll be doing for Fenway if we don't get tickets. Done it for a bunch of shows....kind of fun.

You'll be pretty much right on top of the stage just from the rear.

    Great seats, great sound.

For London ON 2013, they had video screens facing the back as well as speakers. So the sound was great and you could look at the screens too if the back of everyone's heads wasn't an optimum view.

  • Okay, so it sounds like I should most definitely hang on to them. Would it be worth upgrading to a different section in the 200s that has a front-facing view? Or should I just stick with what I've got?

I'd say only on the side stage. Other than that I'd stick with those seats.

Had them at one of the 2013 Barclays shows. Absolutely positively better than not being at the show of course. That said, while the visuals were pretty good, I did find the sound to be a bit lacking. The other thing is, my section was full of what must have been dead people. Some literally sat through the whole show!

. The key is having speakers face that way. I believe PJ does put them back there.

They had them at denver 2014 and it was actually the clearest sound at an arena I think I've ever experienced. And the view really isn't bad, they are very good at acknowledging the folks in back and making them feel as much a part of the crowd as anyone else.

I was just behind the stage for Bruce at the Garden the other night, 3rd level; had an excellent time and the sound was good.
