    Agreed. First time I got it was Philly 1 (well it was after Pendulum actually but close enough) and when I heard that very first D chord it was chilling... like HOLY SHIT I'm getting to hear Pearl F'ing Jam play Long Road live!

    It took me a long time before i got to hear/see Release open a show.

    Only 8.... Plus seeing Eddie at the Beacon... Hard for me to get to shows, but when Pearl Jam is in the NJ/NY area I try my hardest to go... Even without the luck of the lottery :)

    That's a tough one Mike...
    I think I'd take DTE at every show if it meant we could get back to those classic openers!!
    I don't hate the song, it's one of my favorites on Lightning Bolt,
    I just miss the old school openers,
    and in my opinion...
    NOTHING should be played before Release at a PJ show, unless it's Metamorphosis 2 :wink:
    Always loved the suspense of not knowing what was going to open the show,
    and for a band that made it's name on mixing up the setlist every night...
    Pendulum has already been played 36 times and I think it's ALWAYS opened the show!!
    I know they've said they can't really find another place to play the song in the set...
    but using it to open an encore set would work too!!
    Hopefully since they aren't really touring on the album this year,
    they'll change up the sets a little more than they have the last few tours.


    I got Pendulum to open the encore in Melbourne 2014. To be honest, it didn't really work there

    Coming all the way from Oz for MSG 2, long road or release to open would be awesome. I missed Release in Adelaide in '09' only song I need to complete Ten.

    I'd be surprised if they DIDN'T open with Release tbh.

    Long Road is a pretty safe bet for MSG. They haven't played it in any NY area shows since Nassau in 2003. They played Release in 2013 at Brooklyn, might not get it again.

    I LOVE Long Road as well so that wouldn't be a bad 2nd option by no means, but still hoping for a Release opener!

    Lucky you. I only drove about 800 miles to finally hear/see it too>LOL>I ain't complaining as it was worth every mile>LOL
