Driving from NYC to Philly at 4pm for this. Should make it in plenty of time, right?

Eh, for the show? Yeah, you should be good. For some pre-gaming, not sure. From NYC it's about a 90 minute trip without traffic, figure two hour for normal traffic, then you're talking rush hour times.....I dunno....I could see this end up taking 2 1/2, 3 even....Waze app is your friend.
Okay thanks. I won't be able to tailgate for this one unfortunately.

I may head out earlier than 4 if need be.

Yeah, then you should be good for the show. I just never feel good with that ride - I always think the worst can happen. And it has to me, but it's usually been going north.

I know, same here. I'll make sure to watch traffic throughout that day as well. Waze is telling me that normally I could leave at 4 and get there by 6:20. That only accounts for 20 minutes of traffic though. But they also assume I will drive the speed limit .

Yikes! I'd be nervous but that's how I am. I've had it take an hour to get out of the city at that time of day. I've also had some nightmarish hours spent on the New Jersey turnpike headed south. Maybe you can skip out a bit earlier?

Question about parking - it's been about 10 years since I've done a Philly show. I'll be coming from NYC, and I do not plan on tailgating but figure I'll be there around 6:30-7. When I check online about parking I see this $10 Express Parking at Jetro, which looks walkable but I'm not sure. Am I better off just parking in the Wells Fargo lot for $25? I sure as hell will not reserve a spot online for $40.

I used to park at Jetro for Eagles games. It's like a 5 to 10 minute walk. Right down the street. If you are looking to save some money, it's not a bad option.

$25 is a repulsive price to park. Sadly it's the norm now.

Jetro parking lot is the party lot. And also a solid place to park for cheap.

If it's just 5-10 I have no problem walking to save the money. Thanks!

Ther are parking spots that are free.( I went Friday night for the NCAA Tourney and parked on Lawrence, just off Pattison). It's not far from the $10.00 parking lot and it's not too bad of a walk(I was able to do it and i don't get around like i use to)

Pre-show tailgating at Wells Fargo is the best, and rivals any big sporting event that you would go to.

F'ing awesome. We're gonna bring it this tour, boys and girls. Two days of tailgating and boozing in the lot.... anyone up for pong? Cuz we're bringing a table, and taking all comers. Consider the invite out for a friendly game. Four 30 something face to face fans ready to rock. Man, I'm just getting warmed up.
You bringing the paddles or playing that beirut junk? Either way, I'm in...counting the days.

Driving from NYC to Philly at 4pm for this. Should make it in plenty of time, right?

I'm leaving from Stamford early. Checking into hotel I hope by 3. Going the Jersey Turnpike is a crap shoot. I've made it to Philly in 2 hours and I have made it in 5.
You should be fine but I would try to leave earlier just for a little cushion. It's not like you can get there too early :giggle:

Thank you fellow 10 clubber for saving my ass....again!!!

Can anyone recommend a nice restaurant for Saturday night? On the romantic side would be preferred - I owe my wife for going to B2B shows with me on Thursday & Friday.

    Any suggestions are appreciated.

How nice (expensive), and where about in the city are you staying?

I'd say a BYO, since Philly is king of them - but you'd probably want to look up any of these restaurants (off the top of my head) on OpenTable now to land a res for 4 weeks from now: Laurel (probably totally booked by now), Will, Noord, Townsend (not BYO), Fond (only BYO on certain nights), Pumpkin, Mercato, Little Fish, Zahav (not BYO), Giorgio on Pine, Bibou, All solid choices, and should be nice enough.

We're staying on Intrepid Ave, on the other side of the highway from the Sports Complex.

I will be driving, so location isn't a major problem as long as it's in Philly (although I would prefer not head into any sketchy neighborhoods considering I'm not familiar with the area).

The wife doesn't drink much, and I'll probably have had my fill at the two shows, so the whole BYO issue isn't really an issue at all.

As far as how nice, I wouldn't want to spend any more than $30 / entrée....... nice, but not Capital Grill nice, you know?

If you know of any nice Italian restaurants / steak houses off the top of your head, the help is much appreciated.

Thanks for the other suggestions, I will look into them.

Hmm, other side of the highway? Are you staying down at the Navy Yard?

South Philly and Italian is pretty synonymous - good choices off the top of my head... Ristorante Pesto, Mr. Martino's Trattoria, Gennaro's (awesome pizza, too). Dante & Luigi's, Ralph's, Brigantessa.

So I think my buddy is the one with the cell phone right in the middle, I think I'm behind the guy to the right of him. Bright red shirt with Homer Simpson on it but you can't see that in the pic. Eddie poured wine in my mouth at one point...still haven't found that video though haha

Yes, we're staying at the Fairfield Inn Navy yard.

Thanks for the tips, I'll look some of these up online & see what works.

    Much appreciated!

Philly tailgates are the best PJ pregame atmosphere in the country... it's really not even close

BUT, tailgates lead to some people not being able to handle their shit and getting WAY too sloppy... don't be "that guy"

Yeah, I see what you mean.

Anyone plan on hitting up PJ Whelihan's inside Wells Fargo before the doors open?

If you do go there, avoid the Copper Lager (PJ Whelihan's beer) its always watered down at wells fargo. On a side note, I'm pretty sure I can see myself in your picture...philly 10-21-13?
Are you the guy on the far right, long hair?
So I think my buddy is the one with the cell phone right in the middle, I think I'm behind the guy to the right of him. Bright red shirt with Homer Simpson on it but you can't see that in the pic. Eddie poured wine in my mouth at one point...still haven't found that video though haha
