Time to dig out my tapes from storage. I was just given a Nakamichi BX-1 by someone who had no use for it anymore. I don't even remember what tapes I have anymore, so it will be fun to hook up the deck, open up my box of cassettes and pop a few in this weekend.

I just scored a banana box full of cassettes for $20 CDN.  Like 200-300.  There's a lot of old new wave in it (Talking Heads, Smiths, New Order etc.) but I found a couple gems:

    1) Pink Floyd The Wall Live bootleg from Feb.20, 1981 in Germany

    2) Less Than Zero soundtrack - I've never heard of this, but it has Slayer, Danzig, the Bangles and LL Cool J all on the same soundtrack, produced by Rick Rubin.  Weird.

Fine I'll give it a try.  I've been listening to The Smiths cause Morrissey is playing Calgary in a couple weeks (if he doesn't cancel).  I know he's supposed to be a pretty terrible person and I never understood why he has such a big fan base.  I still don't - I don't think I was cut out for anything new wave.

You can pick cassettes up dirt cheap now. If they're in good condition and you have good playback gear they can sound great. Plus the nostalgia of playing these old cassettes is as much fun as listening.

I was looking through my old cassettes. I don’t have that many left. Found some tapes of bands I was friends with in college and some bootlegs that I bought at flea markets (Dylan, The Who, etc.), and several mixed tapes I made for my car. The only prerecorded tape I found was Never Mind the Bollocks. But I did find this. I must have copied it from a friend’s CD. Forgot I had it.
