A gun, as I see it, is a last resort. That means, to me anyway, that the gun isn't coming out of its holster unless I am going to die if I don't stop the threat to my life. I don't go places looking for trouble, don't drink or hang out in bars, don't do drugs, I've never been in trouble with the law and I will avoid confrontation every time I can. I am loathe to violence. I have never unholstered my gun in public, never "shot at a living thing " or left my gun lying where someone else might find it. I think that all of that makes me a responsible gun owner.

At any rate, I appreciate having had the opportunity to be a part of this discussion, but I think I'm done here. "I shan't be receptive to any more of these follies".

Oh, and did I mention that there are about 700 arms manufactures worldwide? Sorry to be redundant but this fact really blows my mind. 700 companies manufacturing death!

You say this as you calmly type without a facing a threat.

My point, in my other comment, is that adrenaline and the fight instinct trump good judgement sometimes. There is no way you can say with 100% certainty that your gun will never go off in a poor moment.

I, for one, have appreciated your input. it's not easy being in the extreme minority, and you have handled yourself with grace and intelligence.

    kudos to you.
