what about the 2010 tour ? quite a few of nhl cities during playoff times. arenas dont keep 2 months open on the off chance their team makes it to the playoffs. it definitely comes into consideration however it doesnt mean they cant have an event during a playoff period..

While they are definitely long shots that does not change the fact that they do need to have room open. Imagine if Toronto Maple Leafs are supposed to play a home game on the 13th for example. If these rumors are correct they would not be able to play that game until the 15th. This would give them 3 days off which is almost unheard of in the NHL playoffs. They also need to juggle the Raptors into the mix who will definitely be in the playoffs...
Well aware of that, part of the reason Boston did not get two shows in 2010. But the playoff scheduling won't come into play until late spring. As nycrats said, arenas also are not going to sit empty on the off chance of games for months ahead of time. They are looking to make as much money as possible too.

With NHL playoffs in full swing, you can bet that the cities with back-to-back nights are definitely questionable (i.e. Boston 2010), but I don't think that makes the list bogus.
That does make back-to-back nights in Toronto only sure thing on that list...
Houston, Texas... Believe it or not, there are 7 million people here... must be a couple of fans who'd love to see you play.

While you make a valid point you also kinda dont. This tour wasn't announced until late march. At that point these arenas already had a good idea on if their sports teams were gonna be in the playoffs. So their schedules were much more clear at this point. Do some of the rumored arenas already have some concerts or other events announced in may? Specifically the nhl arenas in Canada? The arena in Quebec has already confirmed to a newspaper that they are in negotiations with pearl jam for a show in may.

Over on PJ 25 FB a fellow just said, "I have a friend who was in on the negotiations and PJ is confirmed to play Philips arena on April 15 in Atlanta!" Whoo hoo, it's coming!!
NHL arenas do not shut down from the months of April to June except for the potential of hosting home games. I know this first hand....I live across the street from Amalie and concerts still coincide and are still scheduled during the hockey season. In fact, Garth Brooks had to cancel a show last year because of the Cup finals.

yeah, I remember one year, the Sabres played Ottawa and there was like a 3 day delay in the series scheduling because a Dora the Explorer dealy in the Senators' arena.

Might have wanted all those who are going to SA the opportunity to re-up their membership before they leave. If all holds true to a 11/30, early dec announcement/drawing, they usually state eligible members active as of such and such date. Could be as of November 1st. don't see an announcement or drawing until after SA, as painful as it is to say.

Same thing in 2006 I remember the official release had cities like Boston had an * next to the date saying "subject to nhl playoff schedule" or something to that extent...there was no * next to Toronto...hahaha
Believe me that thought occurred to me. However if they are all leaving from their home of seattle I highly doubt they are flying cross country to catch a connecting flight. Seattle to LA or to Houston would make way more sense.
Definitely could've been in ATL for another reason. I was just throwing out that option. And plane routes don't always make much sense. There are routes from Seattle to South America that go through Miami.
What I do know is that I really want that rumored Nashville date to be true I can smell Bridgestone from my back yard. I really hope so too. Its been 12 years of no show.
There needs to be another leg, I hope they announce both legs at once!
Vegas HAS to get a show. 2016 will mark 10 years and it's usually a popular spot for concerts! They aren't playing so much for the people who LIVE in Vegas but for the people who all GO to Vegas for a fun time and fun show. They should do 2-3 nights at the Pearl, I've been saying that since I saw Cornell there in about 07... if Tool plays there, so could PJ.
Geez last Vegas show was when I got engaged... 10 years... long time.

Eddie flying coach wearing a Vedder shirt feels like a planned PR move to me
smart
Many people, despite having the means, choose to fly coach. Ed flew down with his security and probably thought it was less obvious sitting alongside them in coach.
In those pics he is up in business, not coach. Possibly even "first" as it was an international flight.
