    I had the same problem coping the giphy.com links here to make it work. Had to save gif as video and upload it to Imgur, which saved it as a .gifv file. This confused John Travolta gif from Pulp Fiction is one of the greatest EVER used on 9gag.com/.

    Exactly my thinking, I just think it'd be a lot more convenient for people if they announced it at noon on a Saturday (lottery right after) than on a Monday.

    I don't know that PJ considers this sort of thing. However, I did see in another thread that Santos was playing a gig today and tomorrow. I don't know what sort of role he plays in the announcement of dates, but I would imagine announcement + lottery week is an all hands on deck type of week at the 10c. Pure speculation, of course.

    Here in the UK quite often tour announcements are made on a Monday or Tuesday
    Then presale wed / thur. General sale Friday
    No reason why that can't work in USA.

    Anyone had the thought that maybe they delayed out of respect for Scott Weiland? I don't know how close the guys were to STP, but that may be a factor, eh?

    I said something similar a few pages back, but if it is Bruce-related, it's probably more about not having to share the news cycle. Head to head, Bruce's announcement would win for eyeballs in mainstream media outlets every time. And I know it feels from this thread like we could fill all these 20,000-seat venues ourselves, but they need the general public for shows this big, and they need the most news support they can get.

    Similarly, a lot of the big entertainment news websites only update their press-release-style "news wire" segments on weekdays, so a Saturday announcement would get lost in the shuffle and be part of a clearinghouse of stories on Monday anyway.
