can anyone give some insight into parking/subway info?

I'm coming from MA. Should I park at a subway station outside the city (can you do that?) and take subway in? Which line should I take? I'm only used to MBTA, the Metro is foreign to me

I'm coming from MA also. I'm planning on driving to the Stamford Metro North Station off 95 and taking the Metro North train in from there, dropping me in Grand Central. It's about an hour ride from Stamford and they have a parking garage. I think the round trip train is ~$20 bucks a head. It seems like the trains are scheduled ~20 minutes apart pretty consistently. I'm staying over, so if you're not I'm not sure how late the last train is to come back after the show.

Sorry! I was talking more about today for the pop-up shop. Already have a plan for tomorrow.

I was more looking for some insight as to what the closest subway stop to the popup shop is, and if that line has a station where i could park.

I do this, too, except I park and take the train from New Haven (a two-hour ride to Grand Central). Traffic on 95 from New Haven to Stamford is worse than most of what you've encountered in Massachusetts. I've done both New Haven and Stamford, and New Haven is less aggravating for me.

If anyone can grab me a sticker that would be great. Don't want to push my luck and ask for a Pendleton print but might as well throw it out there if someone can. Will cover your cost and some extra for your trouble.

NYC subway stations don't have parking attached, at least not in Manhattan. I think you're better off doing what @dankind suggests, unless you know of a parking garage that you can park at. Manhattan is going to be a giant clusterfuck traffic wise today because of the Pope.

    Pope schedule:
8:30 a.m. Visit to the United Nations and Address to the United Nations General Assembly
11:30 a.m. Multi-religious service at 9/11 Memorial and Museum, World Trade Center
4 p.m. Visit to Our Lady Queen of Angels School, East Harlem
5 p.m. Procession through Central Park (time approximate)
6 p.m. Mass at Madison Square Garden

Street closures (too long to list): http://www.nyc.gov/html/nypd/html/pr/pr_2015_traffic_2015_09_11_papal_visit.shtml

I used ParkWhiz and reserved my spots for both locations (SOHO and Central Park West) I intend to park tomorrow. If you do that now, youll save money, and be assured of a spot.

Damn, yeah I know the stations in Manhattan wouldn't have parking But, in Boston for instance, the outermost stations (in the suburbs of Boston) on the red line, green line, etc have parking lots you can park at to then take that line into the city. I was just wondering if there was something similar in NY.

No worries though, might just try my luck with a garage near the shop

Yeah, I get that. But it really is my only time to go to the shop. Don't wanna try and do it tomorrow morning, especially when I think everyne is gonna do that.

Just gonna try my best today, even if traffic is a shit-show

In case you need, here's the subway trip planner. I don't even know what subways are running vs not, but this should have up-to-date info if you punch in your starting address and where you're trying to go: http://tripplanner.mta.info/MyTrip/ui_web/customplanner/tripplanner.aspx

Within the 5 boros parking lots at subway stops aren't really a thing. My stop has metered parking underneath the station but I dont know how much it is or what the time limit is. You can look for street parking near the station just look at the signs for parking regulations. Not every spot is a spot. You can take the NQR6J to Canal and get off around the corner from the shop on Broadway and Canal. (Follow the signs for the R train and then go out the exit there.)

Driving down from Boston I'd think you're looking for parking in the Bronx, and unfortunately I don't know that area well enough to offer specific advice. Unless of course you wanna park next to Yankee Stadium.
