i think nite 1 had better songs, nite 2 was a better show. so i have them close to a push, and hope the dvd is a combination of both.
nite 2 needed another 4 songs or so to put it over the top as the clear winner. nite one was a wild ride
Plus you sat next to fun people on night 2

Second, just want to say Hello to everyone. It has been and is great reading everyone's posts. It keeps bringing me back to the show.
I came here by way of looking for the setlist for the 8/17 show at the Warner. I don't even know where to begin. Just too many thoughts running through my head.
We had to run home after the show because the grandparents were watching the kids and they still had an hour ride home after we got home. But next time we will be sticking around and waiting with the true fans and admirers with the hope of meeting Ed.
Hindsight being 20/20, I would have gone to both shows. I am glad to hear people say that the second night was the better show.
My only complaints were with the "fans". Someone mentioned earlier in a thread about the guy that was screaming out at the beginning of the show. Well the guy next to us might have been that guy and was pretty much plastered before Liam went on. There were about 4 people to the right of us that had had way too much to drink before the show started. They talked the whole time Liam was on and I figured they were just here really to see Eddie and would quiet down once he went on. Alas not the case. They continued to talk during Eddie's performance as well. I think finally toward the end of the night the security folks finally threw them out.
I think I am still awestruck by the evening. It was great being in such an intimate setting. Reminded me of watching my friend's band practice or record.
What in the world is this? According to the comments section it was filmed at the Warner Theater on August 17, 2008.
I strongly believe that it was. At DC1, Eddie played that song over the PA in the middle of the show, then brought the entire family out on stage to be recognized. Sunday afternoon, venue staff said Eddie was inside filming with his kids. I walked up to the front doors, put my ear against them, and heard this being played in a live setting over and over.
Pancake Mountain is apparently a DC based show that the members of Fugazi (a DC based hardcore band) have been involved in at one time or another. Seeing as Brendan and Ian from Fugazi where there that night, it leads me to believe that this clip was recorded during the soundcheck time in the afternoon before the second DC gig.
If I'm wrong, someone please correct me. I know other people were listening to bits of that performance. If they're on any board they might be able to second this.

Ian is creative consultant on the show, Brendan wrote the theme song. If you've ever stopped at a Stuckey's in the South, the owner's son is the creator of the show.
Anyone heard news of when EV solo DVD might be out that was recorded in Washington DC at the Warner August 16-17? Can't wait! The most AMAZING show ever!!

I was at the DC night 2 concert, and here it is almost 3 months later and I decide to post. The evening was magical - unforgettable - an intimate evening in the Warner that seemed like something rare had been experienced in terms of the level of art and intimacy. Eddie had such a great rapport with the audience, and even the shouting jerks couldn't ruin the vibe. Just wanted to add to those earlier posts, that prior to him singing "I am Mine", a personal favorite, do you remember him speaking of paddling the Potomac earlier in the day? What an image! Also, I was one of the lucky ones that got to shake Eddie's hand at 2 in the morning. I was there with my 15 year old aspiring guitarist son, who was awestruck when he got to talk to Eddie, and no, he did not get a pick, but there's always next time... We did hang out with some great people, along with Skidmo's wife and son, and the rest of those we spoke to, you know who you are - it made the evening so memorable. Having Eddie address our group in the circle and speak candidly about politics and other life experiences, was the icing on the cake. This was an evening I will always treasure. Any photos or video, please email me. Hope to catch the DVD sometime soon!

I had to post here because last night I was thinking about this show. It was an amazing show. Ed was on fire and very talkitive. Liam Finn was also a great surprise. The best opener I ever seen

Anyone got any information on DVD/CD release? The signs on the door and the way that they were enforcing the no camera policy, I was sure that they were recording it for a release.

Was at the show w/ my son. Amazing!! Waited outside the Warner till 2 a.m. and it was well worth it as we got to meet him. He was fantastic. He gave my son (12 yrs old) his guitar pick out of his pocket! Might be the greatest gift ever! He spent about 20 min. talking with the group that had waited and shook everyone's hand. What an amazing night! As for the DVD he talked about at the show - I emailed 10C last week and they said they had no info of a DVD being released at this time. Hope it happens one of these days - was really excited about that!
Thought I'd resurrect this thread to see if anyone who was there that night has caught the DVD yet. Got my email yesterday that it's on it's way. Can't wait to relive the experience - what a night!
