Awesome show. The crowd for the most part was on good behavior except for one dick head who was trying to rush Ed through his Blackbird story.
Ed's stories were great and who knew that he was such the comedian. The term of the night was Thieves of Silence dedicated to all those people hooting and hollering in between songs.
I did thank the 10C but I guess I should really thank Eddie for a great evening.
Cheers,
Vince

Cool poster!
Awesome night! Lots of good stories. All Along The Watchtower was a highlight. Ed calling for a banjo.
Ed told us he was going to change things up and not open with Walking the cow.
The was a big camera crew there taping the show. The camera guy on stage was Brendan Canty, the drummer for Fugazi. Ed asked him to put down the camera and drum for All Along the Watchtower.
Many more highlights but too tired, need sleep
First song I heard live Hard to Imagine.
Thank you Pearl Jam for playing Man of the Hour Philly 13 Night 1, I lost my Uncle that morning and it helped me, Cincy 10-01-14 PIT
Ha! I forgot about that. He was protecting us from the 'thieves of silence'. Too funny. The other one was him asking us to join in on the whistleing for Blackbird- he called it a 'bird-a-long'. I have to say, it was pretty cool! You could tell he thought so, too. And props to the guy behind me doing the pidgeon call- that was hilarious!
This show, for me, was way better than Saturday's. Could be because of where I was sitting, though. Nice crowd around me! I thought the crowd was 100 times better and Eddie seemed more focused and intense. I've seen Arc 4 times now, and last night was the most emotional for me- I think because I actually closed my eyes and just felt the music- awesome. Watchtower and Hard Sun were the perfect way to end this year's Pearl Jam/ Eddie experience for me!!
Also note- Liam sang 'Lullaby' a cappella. If you have his cd, you'd know how cool that was!!!
You are U, who you are.
The personal highlights for me were Rise, Forever Young, Watchtower, Arc, hard sun and the stories.
-Believe the hype about Liam Finnn, he & EJ were fantastic. I bought his album (which comes with a free live CD) and listened to him on the way home. I also met both he & EJ at the merch table...really cool people, EJ was so humble she was helping sell the merch!
-Only other person I've seen do the one man band thing with a DL4 pedal is Howie Day. Liam takes it to another level though! However, the song I enjoyed the most was his acapella song "Lullaby".
-As for the posters, they were selling Batman and I didn't really like that one as much as the blue one. Ask and you shall receive...the guy had another stack under the table of the blue one!!! A bunch of folks asked how I got it and followed my lead:)
-The Ed show notes are pretty accurate, so I don't want to repeat what was already said. He did say before bringing the Fugazi drummer up for Watchtower that they were documenting the night and we would be able to take it home with us.
-Stand out songs for me:
Man of the Hour- love this on that little acoustic
Rise- my favorite from ITW
If You Want to Sing Out- a pleasant surprise, loved it on the Berkley boot
Blackbird- the audience chirpping was really cool
Throw Your Arms Around Me- my wife's favorite
Arc- glad everyone shut up
Watchtower/Hard Sun- felt like a PJ show
NOOOOOOOO! Before going to DC night one, I had considered picking up last minute tickets for night two. Since Night One was so fantastic, I decided going to night two would be greedy. I can't believe I missed All Along the Watchtower with Brendan. Hope someone was able to video it before security shut them down. When I saw the camera guys onstage, I thought maybe it was Jem Cohen. With Brendan involved this documentary should materialize and should be fantastic - aside from drumming in Fugazi, he has his own video production company. Check it out at http://www.trixiedvd.com/.

My friend was going to see Eddie last night. Since he was in Vegas, I gave him 5 Grand to gamble with. I told him I wanted it all to go on Black. Bastard! PhillyCrownOfThorns-11-2-12
Yes. He introduced it as a song about civil rights.
dude, who has better friends that Ed? I mean Brendan Canty of Fugazi, very nice cameo

Just a great show overall, so glad I got to see Rise, and Guaranteed was so powerful. I wasn't there Saturday so I can't comment on the difference in crowd behavior, but I can't understand why people continued to yell stuff out even after Ed made it clear several times he wished they wouldn't. But it did let him be funny, and man, is he funny! I almost wanted him to just talk for a while and not even play. Great way to end the summer.
Ed was funny - the guy he laid into seemed to remain silent the rest of the show. the girl next to us was so drunk that she was almost sleeping before the show even started (what a waste) - but nothing could've ruined the night for me - I will never forget it. And would never want to!

I waited around at the rear entrance with a group of about 40 fans. We waited until 2 a.m. Then, Ed's secruity guy came out and said that Ed was going to come out to meet us, but since there were so many people, he did not have enough time to take pictures or sign anything. We were all cool with that, so he told us to make a semi-circle. Ed came out and waved. He was smoking a cigarette and drinking a Corona. People started asking him questions and he loved it. He said it was a get forum to talk to people. At the end of all this, he walked around and made sure to shake everyone's hand. He gave out two picks.
I know this makes me a dork, but I was fighting back tears while he was talking. The 15-year-old girl inside me was doing cartwheels. I have waited 16 years to meet him.

As Eddie said, he was proud to see his name on the marquee of such a classy venue!
My highlights were just being there, at the show living the moment. When I saw in the program just how few dates there are, I felt even luckier to be there just for this one night.
warm regards
ken
I waited before the show to meet him, only to be told he wasn't comeing "back out." He has his friends and kids with him.....
Did he come out before the show/soundcheck? Anymore meet him before the show?
I couldn't wait until 2am, had to drive back to Norfolk and drop my sister in Richmond. Didn't get in bed until 3:50am -f-ing accident/construction on I-95. Still managed to drag my ass to work this morning at 8am.
But I'd do it all again if I could....
He never came out before the show. I waited around until like 2:30 after the first night but he never did come out for that one either :(
I needed to drive back home (south of Richmond) too. Because I waited until 2, my car was locked inside a parking garage. I was homeless in D.C. for 5 hours. I toured the monuments, watched rats run the sidewalks, and finally slept with one eye open on a bench. I woke up to a homeless man staring at me ( I think I had his bench or he was planning on killing/robbing me). I grabbed my purse/pillow and ran. I was finally back at my car at 7. All still worth the price of getting to meet Ed.

That's a crazy ass story. But good for you! I wanted to meet him so bad but I just couldn't wait. I dragged my sister to this show, but she and I have no PTO from work so we HAD to get back so we could work this morning. If I was alone I might've hung around though....I agree totally worth it...
awesome!
sounds like a great night... and i'm glad you made it home safe and sound.

Called my wife this morning and she was still screaming with pleasure. (No, not that kind of pleasure). Said she hung out with some of the nicest people ever while standing around to meet Eddie and that last night was one of the greatest events she ever been to.
For those whose wives have had a similar experience, any idea on how long it takes for the euphoria to wear down? I'm a little scared to go home right now and see her in person. On the other hand, I did give her those tickets so, maybe she owes me something. (nudge, nudge, wink, wink)
LMAO!!!
The show was good throughout. The mess up on Society was a bit disappointing, but it was funny at least so it's all good.
Overall highlights for me were Sometimes, Man of the hour, Porch, Watch Tower and Hard Sun. Everything was great but those tracks stood out for me.
Liam Finn was very good as well, but I unfortunately only caught his last 2 and 1/2 songs. We were late getting down there and I had to grab something to eat as I had only had a bowl of cereal all day as I was swamped running errands etc. so we had to do some food and brews and Capital City Brewing through most of his set.
