  • New track. Going for that 80's retro Kate Bush vibe.

Wow, I REALLY love this track! Is that you singing? Sorry, couldn't remember if it was or not.

Be kind on this one. I need to EQ it better and add some better vocals- but this is me trying to write my version of Bruce’s Drive All Night. I love the build through. Also need some more rocking drums at the end.

Has a "Bay area" vibe.  This has a lot of potential.
  • With Cluthe/Lee on hiatus, I have been pulling together music, exploring new jams, etc., with plans to record a little EP this summer. There's a little studio here locally that I'm going to use. Been saving up my pennies. Now I just need to find the songs.

Curious.  Why not do the recording at home?  Those studios sometimes polish things up so much that it doesn't sound right.

You bring up a good point @tempo_n_groove
I could very well do everything in house like I've always done, I think for me it's 1) having access to a studio's gear 2) a second ear, someone who can do a bit of producing AND engineering. I'm afraid I'd tinker endlessly with something to the point where I'd lose focus. You're right about the risks of a studio setting maybe putting too much veneer on the music, haha! I could easily spend the cash for studio time on buying the gear I'd want said access to, so who knows. All I know is I want to do something, I've had creative constipation for far too long! Haha!!

My son has a bunch of stuff on soundcloud, Dante Horos. This is his first song from 5-6 years ago. He plays everything. Opinions welcome please.

Very cool, has a James Iha vibe! Glad to see this thread still alive and kickin' in 2020.

  • Hope everyone's doing well. Haven't been in this forum for a long time. Just wanted to throw up a little something I recorded this month. Working on my first EP of original work and so far going pretty good.

    Take care all!

This is the song I have been working on for the last day or two. I think it has a big Beach House Dream-Pop kind of vibe to it. Let me know what you think.

Liking it a little more with each listen. Still have some editing to do and might try adding some sort of percussion and or bass to it at some point but for one day into the song I think it's off to a good start.

  • Well, my EP project has turned into a full LP. This week I begin writing for 9 complete songs that span 2009-2019, a few of them songs that were left on the cutting room floor during Cluthe/Lee’s productive years. Aiming for a track a week. “Asleep at the Gate” is mellow, mostly acoustic based. I also set aside another group of 10 finished songs for a second LP. Those being more electric and heavier in nature. Anyway, everything in house, self-released. Will keep you updated!

Thanks. I'm still trying to arrange and nail down the instrumentation for this one but it's getting there.
