This feels so much like the Ron Paul / Dennis Kucinich early primary run before 08.
    False hope.
I think that election cycle is what broke me politically, turned me into a cynic. Hope I'm wrong.

The Democratic Party will do all they can to crush Bernie.
Totally agree....and the GOP will try to crush Trump. Just like Paul/Kucinich.
Which makes all of this seem like a sideshow - placates people by making them think their concerns are being heard. Then the rug gets pulled from under these 'men of the people', and you are left with the establishment choices - the people who have been able to dodge the tough topics because all of the people who push for reform spent months proselytizing their champion.
It does definitely feel futile. There is no way in hell that Sanders could even win this, so it is indeed false hope for those who actually want a man like that in power. A man like that - a good man - will NEVER have power in the USA.

So what is Bernies solutions to the dinner table issues? I admit I haven't done much by way of researching his positions, but I know he is left of the typical left?
Why would I,an Independant be interested in his platform? Someone please enlighten me on why I should pay attention to this guy?(I'm not being a smart ass)
I don't just vote D or R I base my ballot on the person and their stance on issues. If he has any chance it's with the support of non partisans like me.

He is staunchly opposed to the general state of corporate America and it's influence on the government.
He is for increasing taxes on the highest earners to strengthen the middle class.
    Obviously pro-union.
He pushes hard for student loan reform and cutting the cost of education.
    So yeah...
He focuses mostly on the economy and ways to grow the middle class by raising taxes on the very wealthy and creating jobs.

it is so refreshing to watch a candidate have a positive and direct message. he is complimentary to his opponent.

Jimmy Fallon opened his monologue tonight talking about Bernie for a few minutes, about his passing of Hillary in the NH polls. Word is really starting to get out to the mainstream now.

Hears the link to the page on Sanders site that gives a run-down on how Sanders stands on issues.

    https://berniesanders.com/issues/

I like his stance on economy, what he calls "real family values" (one of the sections on that link page I like the most), racial justice, getting big money out of politics (yes, thank you!) and creating decent paying jobs (we all like that). He's a little weak on environment for my tastes because to me the environment would come first on a list of major issues. (The answer is, "Yes, I really do believe that," ). What's there is great but it isn't broad enough in scope IMHO. In a world that cannot support a healthy and wide variety of life (including us), there are no economic, racial, social or political issues. Hopefully he will come out stronger on environment.

Yet I would bet my life that you never hear Fox News add te "democratic" part to it. Hell most left leaning sites that I've been reading dont even include it, it's pathetic and ultimately might be the reason he doesn't win.
