I bring that up to him. I let him know that in our ONLY conversation we had about my promotion he referred to the owner and GM as Idiots and Liars. His jaw dropped, when I informed him that I would be in the office at 8am tomorrow, letting the owner and GM know just that.
The owner and GM know damned well I have NO REASON to make that up.
Now nothing will happen because of this...Or maybe it will.
But I know God Damned well that Mr. Dispatcher isn't sleeping well tonight.

I was sent a letter from the owner, just a few of us "senior" drivers were sent a letter. The owner was informing us that he wanted to "buy back" our 3rd week of vacation. If we were willing to sell back our 3rd week of vacation, he would in turn give us a small raise. But that 3rd week of vacation would be GONE forever. We would never see that 3rd week again.

I have never heard of such a thing.
Why after working SO LONG to get that 3rd week, would I want to GIVE IT BACK for a $20 a week raise?
Is it me? Or is that just fucking goofy as all hell?
Then as the letter went on, he informed us that at any point he could refuse our 3rd week of vacation. He also stated that we can only use our 3rd week at certain times of the year. So in other words he was dictating when we could take our vacation, but actually he was truly letting us know that one way or another, he is going to TAKE BACK that 3rd week. Right?

As I play the events of the last 4-6 weeks over in my head, it just baffles me that it went so bad, so quickly. What was supposed to be a promotion into management, where I could use my 25+ years of knowledge of this business, to help this company move forward, turns in to me leaving the company?
Its just so strange.

This sucks. But I think you handled everything really well. What a bunch of assholes. I worked with a woman once who was determined to bring me down and she did - I got the hell out and it was the best thing that could have happened. Sometimes you can't fix a toxic environment.

Well, so far all has gone well the last week. Did a couple of interviews, then had to go in for a driving test. Today I will go take the pre-employment drug screen. Then it looks like I will be starting my new position on Monday.
I never went back to old job and talked to the owner.
Fuck him.
Fuck em all.
But if they don't have my vacation checks waiting for me this Friday?
