Ignorant wasn't my word and yes agree humans time is limited in this planet.

But there was never a Jesus and he sure as heck didn't die and come back. So do I believe the faithful are ignorant? Think more misguided by thought process that was instilled by other humans for comfort. Have immediate family that believe this and am as open with them about how I feel as I do here so take no offense. If you take offense then maybe look inside and maybe it's because you have doubts.

The thought of the rapture and Easter is preposterous in my fact based mind and will reject it as much as I can. Feel that is being true to myself and the sooner we face our present and only life the better.

You made some good points here, Callen.

I too would not use the word ignorant. I've had good friends over the years who believe in the rapture and even though I don't share that belief I can appreciate that they are both concerned that some big changes are happening to our world which bring the end to our species and the fact that they are looking for something on which to hang a thread of hope. So as much as I don't share their faith, I try not to be judgmental.

But what I do take issue with is when people say things like, "It doesn't matter if we trash the planet because Jesus is going to come and take us away to be in paradise with him for ever and ever." That's just wrong. It assumes that something that cannot be proven is, in fact going to happen. It assumes that all non-human life has no intrinsic value of its own and is inconsequential. I also take issue with those who assume that any non-believer left behind deserves what ever punishments are in store for them. These things are just wrong. From what I've read about the guy, Jesus would be pissed at those notions.

And getting back to the original post, my guess is that Ms Bachmann is the type of person who would make those erroneous assumptions. But that's not really what it's all about for her, is it? I don't think so. She got herself noticed again. That's what I'm guessing it's all about.

I think a man named Jesus walked the earth. And I do think he walked the earth claiming he was the son of God. I'm pretty sure though that the people during Jesus' time put him in the same category as we put a David Koresh or a Jim Jones today.

every generation has its end of times theory so that I'm not sure about but yes I agree Jesus will return at that time and those that do not believe will find out one way or the other when thier time comes.

But yet such a person is not mentioned in any writings at the time that supposedly occurred....not once. It would seem like such a person would get a lot of attention by writers in that area....none.

I wish I could explain how simple it is.. And as for Jesus existing.. Yes, historically he DID exist.. You need to examine that history.. There IS historical proof of acounts that took place in the Bible.

As for fact based minds.. I feel
Bad for those types.. Because you have no ability to grasp alternate aspects of our world. As a Christian we call this outside force if you will God. I have no
Idea what the atheists refer to it as.. Or if you even acknowledge that there IS something beyond our mortal 'natural' comprehension, that is out there. Science only covers so much. I have seen people healed through my prayers. And I'm not a charlatan preacher seeding 'lame' folks into my audience, yet when I was 13, I prayed over a child with a broken leg, and the very next day, saw that same child RUN into our encampment yelling in Creole that he woke up and he could walk.. He hobbled home on crutches, leg still broken, and it was OBVIOUSLY broken... But tan back to school the next day.. That kid was in our camp for the rest of the summer, begging us to teach him about God do he could share with his friends.. It was the ONLY time I ever saw anything like that other than TV evangelists, or sponsored productions. But after that.. Even when I walked away from my faith.. I still KNEW there was a God. So no one can sway my belief.. I'be SEEN MIRACLES.. And I know. But how sad that people can't wrap
Their heads around something as simple as.. Believe..

Actually the burden would be on YOU to provide proof of the historical accounts....I say that no writings exist that described Jesus performing miracles at the time he was supposedly alive. Yes there are plenty written a few hundred years later but that is irrelevant. There are plenty of stories about Santa Claus that we would certainly agree aren't true as well.

And I'm sorry but if you can heal people with your prayers please go to the nearest Children's Hospital and do that. Come on.

Edit: And please invite a news crew to record the healings....you need to make this well known and heal the masses please.

Believe..

Faith, some have it some do not.
I am glad to see you do.

    Godfather.

    And many kill for it...
