Or to pull you out of a ditch when you are stranded and in need of help........what a bunch of jerks the tow truck companies are.

I can't say all tow companies are assholes; some are legit - my company has used them for random people parking in our lot, and I've used them (AAA) many a time when my car broke down. Always professional.

Definitely some who are slimy, but that characteristic is to be found in any field - in any group of people.

As to the chick in the OP, whether or not her tow was on the up and up or not, she still acted like a spoiled numbnut.

I needed a tow a few months back I called they were there with in an hr and I've also had my car towed for parking in a wrong spot I was pissed but I did park in the wrong spot ...

Her Twitter message is pathetic. Nice try lady, but you can't put the toothpaste back in the tube (or the pus back in the zit, in her case). Decent people don't even have those thoughts in their heads at all, let alone have them come out of their mouths.

I can see being unhappy with any company if they screw up but to make those kinds of condescending remarks shows no class whatsoever. As for her "college education", so what? I'm not impressed.

As for tow truck outfits in general, I guess I've been lucky. I've had good experiences all around. It's puzzling to see all the hate for those people here. One time, we had a tire blow out on our little trailer on I-80. My back was out and we needed to call for help. The guy that came out to help practically put his life on the line helping us out of a bad spot on a super busy section of highway. That guy did a great job. Hell of a good man.

Most of my tow truck experience comes by way of being on wreck scenes with the fire department. Most of them are just doing their jobs. I have found the worst ones are the guys that are just starting up and will do anything for a buck.

Google illegal towing in Chicago. Go read about some of the undercover investigating of some of these predators.

Sorry to hear about that. The places I've had tow service with no problems include California, Western Utah, Western NY State (outside Niagara Falls), Washington State and Oregon. Never a problem.

I very much liked what I saw of Chicago the two times I've been there but that town sure has it's problems.

Why were you towed speedy? And why did you leave the keys in your rig?

He was walking around with a semi....

Could the ESPN reporter handled this better? Of course.

But it only took me 5 minutes to find the 100's of complaints against this towing company. I wasn't the least bit surprised.

Obviously I am not a big fan of the towing industry. Ha

Last 12 The correlation is both women will basically get off with a slap on the wrist. If it was a man that berated someone they would have been fired and if a man had a sex party with 16-18 years old he would be called a pedophile. How is that equal treatment?

I disagree. Espn has a history of suspending reporters and tv personalities. That is pointed out in the article cited by the OP. 3 or 4 in the past 12 months. All male. Let's be honest here, what did she do? She was a bitch. Last time I checked, that isn't illegal. It's just bad publicity. So this woman will get a week without pay. Do you think she should be fired? Seems a bit excessive.

I've read the article you've posted and that woman lost custody of her children. Is there any other worse punishment you could dole out to a woman? I would say that is worse than being on any sex registry, which is what I'm assuming you would like to see.
Didn't ESPN suspend a reporter for defending evolutionism against a creationist working there?

And something I learned long ago is that when you work for a company and go out in public, you still represent that company, especially being a public figure such as a reporter. You're never off the clock. So yeah, she gives the company a nasty image from this performance of hers. I say fire her.

Some of you act like that people aren't allowed to have a bad day, or moment. Fire them! Ruin their lives over what? Saying someone is trashy? I fully understand you represent your company off the clock. The company I work for is very well known in this area. I would hope that if I had a temporary lapse of judgment and ended up on you tube, they wouldn't fire me over it. Especially if I didn't even break the law.

When you are a public figure, you always represent your company even when you're off the clock. Whenever people see her reporting again will think of her asshole behavior. One time is one time too many to most bosses in the public eye.

But tge shit she said, in my opinion, was not simply the result of a bad moment or day. Tye shit she said came from a place of entitlement and downright brattiness. Kt is part of what is wrong with humanity and how our children behave (shaming others for their weight, looks, or social economic class). I don't give a shit who she is (i didnt actually know until this very thread), what she did deserves public shaming. I dont care if she loses her job, but if I were her bosses, i certainly would can her ass. She single handedly alienated a massive portion of their viewership, and in the process ruining their brand. Possibly losing major sponsors if they dont act quickly.

Its part of being in the public eye. You represent a brand and a huge investment of money for a lot of people. People like her know this, but she chose to act like a twat anyway because she obviously thinks she is above reproach. That type of baggage is not something most companies would keep their wagon hitched to.

Oh good, Last Exit! I get what you mean about how we all make mistakes but her condescending attitude just seemed way too blatant.

bsL, yes, seriously, a TV news personality probably wants to be a little more careful than this woman was.

she was even warned. This is taped and I will release it! She didn't care. She probably does this a lot and I bet more stories will leak.

If I was a big wig at ESPN I would fire her and if I was an athlete I would never grant her an interview

However, according to a source, the Advanced Towing employee was "rude, dismissive and taunting," and the tape released is "highly edited" to show only McHenry in an unflattering light. For example, her dig to "lose some weight, baby girl" was allegedly a response to the employee telling her to "fix your roots."

Again I want to see how this all turns out.

I see the towing company put out a statement asking that Ms. ESPN NOT be punished in any way.

  • The towing co. may want her to keep her job but there are plenty that want to see her fired. Like I said before, from now on, if she keeps her job, we will see her interviewing yet many people will just remember that spoiled and nasty behavior. She's better off to take a loss and regroup.

So nobody other than me and speedy thinks this woman was baited at all? Is she supposed to just sit there and take a woman talking shit to her? Espn isn't going to fire her. And athletes won't boycott interviews with her. I'm sure they have the whole story.

Being bated only reflects on the person doing the baiting; how you respond is what reflects on you. It's certainly possible to stand up for yourself without making tacky jabs about weight or where someone works.

Sure, but sometimes when you wrestle with pigs you get dirty (no pun intended).

If her comments were unsolicited and she unloaded on some poor woman behind a counter... she's a douche of the highest order. If she was retrieving her vehicle after being towed... and dealing with comments about her hair... then I'm not inclined to burn her at the stake because she didn't take the high road.

Oh, I'm not saying she should be fired. I think the automatic reaction to call for someone to be fired for things like this is way over the top.

Apparently in BC our Minister of Transportation got a speeding ticket. Some people are calling for him to lose his Cabinet position. The NDP transportation critic claims to be "shocked" that he would be speeding. Really, people?
