Juggler's neighbor can make you a sandwich...I believe it's speedy that makes omelettes, though as pointed out, speedy's are technically fritattas because there is no gooey eggie goodness in the center.

My neighbor was also in charge of breakfast. I just never went down there that early. Don't sell him short.

A chili omelette?????? Tell me more
Some put the chili, cheese and onions inside the omelet (makes for nice ooziness), but others simply smother the hell out of it.

Just found out my favorite local diner who made them THE best just closed after over 50 years.
I've made eggs with so many types of leftover food...yet I don't think I've ever gone down the chili road before.

You best believe Your Juggler will try this out next time we have chili for dinner (which, now that I think of it, won't be for a while with the temperature heating up--damn it!)

Has any one ever had a soft boiled egg? (I hope you don't mind the digression, TWTM.)

Yes...love it! I even have duck shaped egg cups.

Is it like a poached egg, but still in its shell? Don't you have to remove the top and scoop it out?

Pretty much, put it in the cup, and there are special scissors to cut the top off, and a special tiny spoon. Really great if you like gooey veggie goodness.

Us regular folk just use a spoon to get the top of the shell off and use the same spoon to eat with

I haven't had a good soft-boiled egg in ages! No runniness, lots of salt and pepper. My mom made them perfectly; I haven't been able to master it.

Those scissors look fancy. I like the chicken feet on the bottom of the "cups." How long do you boil a soft boiled egg?

By my standards? No fucking idea =)

I'll say though that the cups thing reminded me of the Peter Rabbit egg cups we had growing up. My sister still has them.

SHE makes awesome soft-boiled eggs. That gene was apparently not passed down to me

I turned the lights out and said goodnight to this thread last night. Now you're discussing soft boiled eggs instead of omelettes? I need time to gather my thoughts and form a cohesive response....

"If I catch any of you guys talking about soft-boiled eggs, I'll kill you"

When I was real small my grandma used to make eggs in such a way that my brain can only interpret as egg soup. My mom (who was the daughter of that grandma) had no fucking idea what I was talking about.
I've never learned what it was or ever had it since, but I've never forgotten it.

    Lol, I can't tell if you're being serious or not. I wasn't.

I actually love soft boiled eggs. So I guess I like gooey eggie goodness after all. Just not in my Omelette.

Diner I used to frequent had a chili n cheese omelette. Fixings on the inside. Delicious! Also had a fajita omelette. Peppers, onions, chicken, fresh avocado on top. Could have used a little more fajita seasoning but it was good.

Oh so you didn't really care if I minded the digression, or not? You're just going to talk about any kind of eggs you want without consulting me first?
