Paid the most we ever paid for concert tickets and I don't imagine that record will break anytime soon.   Going to the Houston show as we have a friend that moved there.   $397usd per ticket.   Was a nightmare trying to get tickets in the presale.  Not so much because of the waiting room (Which I think is an interesting idea, as it's random lineup, to prevent bots from all going first), but because of how you had to select your tickets.    In the past select your tickets was only used after the initial onsale.   The demand is so high for a sale, that everytime you select tickets, someone else bought them.   Took us almost an hour just to get the expensive ones :(

Stoked we're going though.  Bucket list thing.  One of the last big rock band's I've never seen.   Wanted to see them before they call it a day :(
Yeah I gave up after selecting about 10 different times and being told they weren't available.  I'll take my chances with stubhub or scalper

I will probably do what I did for GNR last year. wait until the day of the show and buy tix from a scalper at drastically reduced prices. the JAX won't sell out. I ended up sitting dead center 14 rows from the stage at GNR. ticket only cost me $100.
That's actually a great idea. I was looking at the Jax show as well.

seriously, man. I had scalpers begging for my business. they were in an auction with my wife and I to get our business. The tickets we got were around $300 face value for $100. I would assume it would be the same at Stones show. can't imagine people are gonna pay that kind of money for floor seats in JAX.

I would def do it if I were you. it is pretty close for you. if I try it and strike out then that's about a 14 hour round trip bust for me.....  but that's the closest to me they are playing this time around and I have never seen them live.

  • I paid once 200 euros in a Ticket resale web to see these guys and I will NEVER pay that amount of money again. Only if Led Zeppelin get together again :pensive:
At least I had Mick Taylor,Bobby Keys and Lisa Fischer on that stage I will never forget that awesome evening I had.
I couldn´t beleive what I was watching:  Mick Jagger moving that way with his age.

Yah we paid the $397 US.  The upside is we managed to use TM's ticketexchange system and upgrade from s127 to s125 which is just infront of/beside the stage.  The bad news is the tickets are ridiculously expensive.  At this point I've seen most rock bands that still tour (or at least the ones I like).    If I don't go now, I probably never will.    Definitely wouldn't pay that kind of money twice.. but I'll do it once.

I do regret not buying $3000 scalped Zeppelin ticktets for the show in England.  That was probably my one and only chance.  Was being to responsible and finished paying off my student loans :(

It blows my mind how much concert tickets are these days.  My friends and I used to go see bands like The Jimi Hendrix Experience, The Who, Miles Davis, Santana, Zappa and the Mothers and on and on  and we were all young and working minimum wage jobs and yet had no problem coming up with the cash for tickets.  The only think I can figure is this all has something to do with fewer great bands and A LOT more people in the world.

Concerts are only for the young living at home with no bills or the upper middle class and higher.  I can no longer justify a 100 buck for 2 hours fun, then add all the extra.  Fuck that.  How rich do these people need to be...

Actually it is likely more of a shift from the artists making money off of selling records vs touring.  The money is in touring now due to the loss of record sales, etc.

Since the 70s, the money for most established artists is in touring.

I almost bit the bullet to go to Jazz fest, but added up the total cost and passed.  It sounds like a great time, but for the money I'll plan another music road trip.

  • I may go just because that lineup is probably the most impressive I’ve ever seen listed.  We go all the time anyway, spend a lot of weekends there for the jazz.  Going to see Cyril Neville and the swamp funk next weekend- they’re playing jazz fest too I just saw.

It sucks I won’t be seeing them next month.  But, most importantly, I hope Mick’s health is fine.  It’s truly amazing Mick, Keef, Ronnie, and Charlie have been performing at such I high level these past few years.  Let’s hope for a speedy recovery and good health for all of them.

Definitely bummed about this.   Finanally was going to cross them off my bucket list and the shows are postponed.  We've already got our flights to Houston paid for :(  Ahh well we'll figure it out.  Hopefully Mick Jagger gets better and they're able to do the tour at a later date.
