Okay, so I guess I’m going to have to go all PBS/WGBH, public television/radio fund drive on your asses. We have a pretty decent goal and we’re just about a third of the way there, thanks to all who have so generously donated thus far but we need to get to our ultimate goal as the deadline is fast approaching!
As some of you might be familiar, one of the things that happens during those PBS/WGBH fund drives is that an anonymous donor will step up and match pledges. Well in this case, someone has stepped up and will donate one entry for every three or more entries made, up to sixteen entries. Basically, they’re donating $5.00 for each individual who donates $15 or more to the cause, to a limit of $80.00 or 16 entries. That’s right Martha, its like getting 25% more for free. But here’s the kicker, we have to get 16 new entries of $15.00 or more for the anonymous donor to pledge their $80.00. I know, I know, but it’ll hopefully spur those people who donated to encourage others to do the same or more! Thanks Stew, you’re right, except I’m not sure if it’s the same as increasing your chances by 25%. I think that might depend on the number of total entries and the number of entries in your name. I think that sounds right Martha but I was never good in math, particularly figuring odds and probabilities. I didn’t go to MIT you know. Ha, ha, right again Stew!
So, there you have it. Go to the link and make a pledge. But hurry, there are only 16 “free” entries to be had and they have to be made by 12:00 p.m. EST Saturday, May 2nd so I can communicate the list of entrants who will get another entry for the raffle. If you pledge, PM your forum name and amount so I can communicate your additional entry to Eliot Rosewater by Sunday. I’ll periodically post how many entries are left.
