I have had a reliable source inform me that this announcement is %100 NOT related to global festival

So then what is it if you have a reliable source?
I have info on global fest, and pearl jam will not be there
Everything in the world points to global citizen... except you my friend, what is your scoop?

Obviously this announcement could be for a concert or 2 before or after... but I think it looks safe to assume global citizen festival is happening? no?

I want to make a bet they will not play at Global Festival. I will bet my NM Avocado vinyl, played maybe 10 times, for someone's Lost Dog vinyl who thinks they will play Global fest.
Someone needs to take this bet.

I'm surprised people are so jazzed up about this. There will be like 100,000 people there, Pearl Jam will play 90 minutes tops (headliners usually play about 12-14 songs) and it will be nothing but greatest hits.

No rumors about a warmup or arena show around this?
it's a free show in central park. i'm pumped. who cares how many people are there. and their greatest hits are hits ....well because they are good songs.
    EXACTLY!!!

    100,000 people in Central Park
Pearl Jam playing for 2 hours?
Could be one of the bands "Greatest Moments"

But why do some people here call it lame? My guess is because the wont have their precious GA tickets, or their precious 10club tickets. Right? God forbid they have to sit amongst the riff-raff.
    Hahahahaha
ehhh. It's going to be GA for the whole thing aside from the VIP tickets. I think it's the type of thing where if you want to get in the front for PJ you have to get there very early and wait through a half a day's worth of entertainment that you do not want to see. I think people just look down on a lot of types of appearances.

    Fucken elitists and their GA.
    Lolla..05? 06? 07?
    Whatever year it was.
70,000 or so people at Grant Park
    Hotter than all hell..
    Greatest hits show?...I guess

One of the best times I have had at a rock concert.

MIA was a great show too. Festivals in general are usually a fun time. I don't know why PJ festival shows have been branded as bad events.

There are some where the music is not enough. They believe they have a personal relationship with the band. That 40th pick they get will change their life.

I don't have Facebook but have twitter... only able to get points by signing petitions... am I not using Twitter for this properly?

Twitter didn't work for me either. Signing petitions and sending emails did though.

Don't forget about sipping Ed s wine with 20 of your closest friends. There's the real life changer.

So sad.. I wish I wasn't missing this. Just curious. Can you BUY tix? Or is it just by 'invite' only? ( the whole petition signing/ points/ lottery/ thing)?

I went to Global a few years ago when Neil played and while the music was good, you can't pay me enough to go back. There were about a quarter of the stands/bathrooms that they needed and such a trainwreck getting in and out. And I'm pretty sure nobody played over an hour so I don't know why they would give PJ a full set.

I maxed out at 14 points so far and can't find any more petitions or emails... I assume more will come....

Is this everyone's experience so far?

I believe it is about 6 or 8 points for each entry and you could put in a total of 6 entries last year. If they do it the same you will need about 40 points . It can take a while :-)

IF PJ does play (or not) I will go as always and sit in my "normal" spot and enjoy the music and my friends all day. The screens are HUGE and they are tiered from front all the way to the back of the field so you can see them from everywhere. The sound is actually pretty good too. To try and sit up front is crazy talk IMO but hey, I'm old. The only difference for me is my BF will come ( he went to the first Global and vowed to never go back unless PJ or Panic plays) And I will probably have a tear in my eye when they play since I am in serious PJ withdrawal. I do not see getting a VIP tix b/c it's not in my budget unless they come out with a hundred dollar ticket or something.

Yes, security is pretty tight as they did not let us in with a CINCH SACK, it was considered a backpack (NOT) but they let people in with shopping bags and pocketbooks the size of a refrigerator. It's pretty easy to get nips in but the mixers inside are nill so there is that. We bring powdered drink mixes ( the idv. wrapped ones) and mix them with water (which can take up to an hour to buy) and viola a nice little drinkie. Leaving the field I have seen 5th bottles all over and people just smoke weed openly so when theres a will there is a way.

It's a great festival overall and I have seen so many bands I would never go buy a ticket for They have all put on a great show. Even if it's 20 minutes its FREE and I think it's pretty fuckin amazing it's available to us. I love it and will go every year as long as I am able and can get a ticket!
Thank you fellow 10 clubber for saving my ass....again!!!

If you're prepared it really isn't soooo bad (i mean it is a pita, can't deny that) Eat a big meal before you go in b/c the lines for food are horrid. They said there would be free water trucks but I have never seen one. The porto lines are not bad at all and merch never has a line.
I think PJ will play about and hour and a half (guess) but no I would def not travel to go to this "PJ" show. If you look at the closing headliner bands they do give them a nice slot. If PJ doesn't close it out, they will get an hour.

Getting in can take an hour, getting out is what you would expect of 100,000 people leaving a park at the same time. It aint fun but there it is. We leave with the masses not b/c we're in a hurry, but we need food! Pizza is the first thing on the agenda after being penned up in a cage all day.

Can't wait! I'm hoping to take my daughter to her first pj concert! She'll be almost 16 by then and could give any of you a run for your money in a guess the pj lyrics contest. She's so psyched!
