I think there is a big chance we get Ed solo shows this year with GC offering tickets through a lottery. Especially because there is a Vedder heading on this website under future tour dates. But I don't think he's going to play the festival by himself. It will be the whole band.

If so then I bet it is for EV solo tour that will be announced.
If not, then probably something they offered in the past.
I am still holding out hope for some full band shows.

Being announced this Thursday ...

Beyonce is going to perform at the 2015 Global Citizen Festival, which will be held on September 26 on the Great Lawn in New York City. The singer will perform alongside Ed Sheeran, Coldplay and Pearl Jam. The news is supposed to be announced on Thursday so we'll have to wait until then for the official confirmation. Well I think in theory they could be the headliner but Global Citizen knows better because the backlash from Kanye would be unbearable.

Festivals are great. Music Midtown was a blast and the lineup at MIA before that was really nice. But this won't even be a normal PJ festival appearance. If Beyoncé is really playing, it'll be Pearl Jam from about 8-9pm, probably about a 10 song setlist. Nothing like the 24-28 you see at other festivals.

Warm up for MSG the following two nights on Sunday & Monday night.

No reason (at least in my mind) they would have a "special announcement" for a festival they won't even headline and play a total of 10 songs tops. IF they were to play a couple shows at MSG without any kind of tour to support it - wouldn't you think they would want at least a warmup show before blowing the roof off the place? Global Citizen sounds like it would be just that, and not too taxing on the band only playing a max of 10 songs.

MSG is completely open until October 1st after after Global Citizen.

I remember being surprised at the Sandy relief 121212 show when Chris Martin got to play three songs on his own while Eddie and Dave Grohl were only backup for Roger Waters and Paul McCartney. So if Beyonce is headlining and Coldplay is also playing...Pearl Jam might be third from the top.

Pearl jam (and not jay z) headlined made in America so maybe they will headline this.

It honestly wouldn't shock me to even see Ed Sheeran play ahead of PJ at this considering his popularity lately. Although I don't know how big he is in the states, he's the hot ticket over here, selling out two shows in Croke Park which is an 80+ thousand capacity venue, as well as selling out three Wembley shows.

The Rangers have preseason games on 9/28 and 9/30. The weekend schedule was cleared though as Billy Joel's 9/26 show was rescheduled.

No way. JayZ isn't nearly as popular as Beyoncé. If she's involved, she's 110% the headliner. Today, the only person who can really compare to her in terms of popularity would probably be Taylor Swift.
