Afroman is a jerkoff. The girl is an idiot for going up on stage. And that venue will be getting sued for not having any security.

Side note...who the fuck would go see Afroman?!?!?

    who the fuck IS afroman?

On a team-building work ski trip, my friend/coworker did a karaoke rendition of that song in the hotel bar, in front of all of my bosses and co-workers....and dedicated it to me. Ass.

I dunno...if I was that boyfriend, I think I'd have at least paused and had a few words for Mr. Afroman before I went after my gf. Hitting him would've been stupid tho.
There's no way he thought it was a guy....he was looking right at her at the start of the first video. Plus, it was open-handed....I'm sure he thinks he's hard; bitch-slappin....and he will probably get off on it as self defense because the woman shouldn't have been there and touched him first.
  • And what's with the boyfriend or whoever got up there and then pussed out? I am the last person to ever promote violence, but if my girlfriend got jacked like that right in front of me I would go out swinging. I'd take the ass whooping that would probably come, but no way I would just walk away. The guy just went back to playing his shitty solo. Unreal.

you know what, that was my first reaction too. but when you think about it, it would have accomplished nothing to retaliate. he wouldn't have been helping his girlfriend out, he would have been dragged offstage and beaten and she'd still be laying there. so good on him for keeping his cool.

I get that, but I'm not sure I could look my girlfriend in the eye after watching her get laid out and not doing anything. I think that primal instinct to protect loved ones would just come out. Then again, maybe he doesn't really like her that much. Or maybe it was just some random dude going to check on her.

Yeah, I would have at least had a few choice words for that dude.

I never considered that he might get off on "self defense". Maybe, but what ever kind of music career he's has he had probably trashed. Should be anyway.

well, there's always the idea that another Dimebag Darrell might happen. But this chick was clearly not going to do something like that.

    Good point, paulonious.

And I guess it goes without saying that Afroman is no Dime Bag Darrell (R.I.P.) either.

Man, with the salaries I'm fairly sure the TMZ staff are paid, they sure can't write for shit!

And I love how at the end of the article it says he's getting help for his anger. He should work on getting help for being an asshole first.

Ziggy's By the Sea in Wilmington, NC ... tells us they have a very Christian audience that won't tolerate the kinda thing that went down Tuesday night in Biloxi, MS.

It's like they're so excited to get the shit out, it doesn't matter if the basic integrity of writing is applied.

Smellyman, I don't get how a "very Christian" audience would even be down with seeing this dude to begin with.
  • where was the security?

i am in a local band here in st louis and we have bouncers in front and on either side of the stage. nobody can even get near us unless we allow it.

this woman should sue the venue as well.

she had no place on that stage, but he also had no business knocking her out.

Security should have been there, but I disagree with the suggestion she should sue the venue- even though there is significant legal precedence rewarding such stupidity.

I've been to many smaller shows where security has allowed a seemingly harmless person on stage to dance. maybe it was up to their discretion? but if afroman reacts like that, you'd think he would have instructed the venue beforehand that he doesn't like people on stage.

in my experience, that is expressly written in the venue contract. apparently it was not in there, or it was overlooked.

i don't see this as rewarding her for poor choices. i see this as them paying damages because as the property owner they are responsible for what occurs on their property.

disagree if you want, but that is the way it is in america. as a venue you have to carry liability insurance the same way you have to carry insurance as a homeowner.

  • but suing the venue because SHE chose to get up on stage? she can sue afroman all she wants, but suing the venue is akin to me suing a flagpole company because I stuck my tongue to it in the winter.

I have an issue with the portion of your post that i've underlined. I don't think just because "that's how it is in america" means you should do what everyone else in america does.

But wouldn't the actions of the puncher trump the liability of the venue? Shouldn't Afroman's insurance pay for this? HE caused the damages. It was his negligence (well, his stupidity).
  • you can sue anybody for anything in this country. it might get laughed out of court, but you can sue anyone and seek damages for the slightest perceived wrong. depends on the judge and jury.
