Crowdfunded Pearl Jam! Yes!

we're on the same page. Sorry. it's hard to interpret sarcasm in the typed form when people use it discreetly.pdalowsky said:
Oh no not remotely snide, deadly serious. Im firmly on the train that we should let the band plan their own commitments, and take them as they come. We can hope and request shows freely on the boards, but to start a fund to try and coerce one is im my mind going way too far.shep said:
Paul, I don't know if that's meant to be a snide comment or an honest one... but I will say this:pdalowsky said:Seems most folk here agree that it would be better to sit back and let the band make their own plans, you know like they always have.
How would you feel if someone was planning your life and business for you? (apart from your wife)
you know... like 95% of the people posting in this thread...Houston, Texas... Believe it or not, there are 7 million people here... must be a couple of fans who'd love to see you play.0 -
PEARL JAM in 2024! Dark Matter and MORE ! THANK YOU!!
Peace Love & Pearl Jam forever!!0 -
asking anything from a band that already gives us so much is not cool. IMO

Hell, throw in Red Rocks while we're talking about hypothetical shows!!!
Bottom line for me is The Gorge is the most BEAUTIFUL venue I've ever seen,
and if there's a Pearl Jam show or destination weekend scheduled there,
I'll do whatever it takes to attend that event!!
If outdoor shows in nature and camping out under the stars with your friends isn't for you,
That's good, but this would be pure heaven for me!!
Oh and gorge is a must do. And there are hotels and bathrooms. October perfect time.

i think a crowdfunded EV solo show would be much more attainable...
zero chance PJ ever does this0 -
That's the problem i have with these types of fans never satisfied that the band does tour and gives us the chance at tickets before the general public nope not good enough ...
Now it comes to this fans dictating when & where they want the band to put on a show as if what they have been doing for 20plus yrs is just not sufficient to me this reeks of entitlement which i wan't no part of ......jesus greets me looks just like me ....0 -
I agree on the entitlement.josevolution said:That's the problem i have with these types of fans never satisfied that the band does tour and gives us the chance at tickets before the general public nope not good enough ...

Although Pearl Jam doesn't sell merch, tour, or release music for free so I do think they are a company and we are customers as long as both sides want to keep that relationship going. Granted PJ has a monopoly so we have less sway as customers.0 -
yes they are incorporated no doubt ...bootlegger10 said:

While I love seeing PJ in NYC, this is not my idea of a great or even good venue. First of all, as someone mentioned it's in Queens, parking is tight and a 30 minute subway ride. Secondly there are no indoor facilities only porta potties and usually not enough for the crowd and no running water. The worst for me is there are no seats only concrete and metal benches with no back and without numbers. It is divided in sections but how many people do you seat on a bleacher seat? If you leave your section or ga to eat or go to the bathroom you cannot get back in.the sound is not good either as it is all metal and concrete and since it really is a tennis court, the stage setup and lighting often obstruct your view. IMO a place like this sounds much worse than the outdoors of the gorge which is rather like Alpine Valley. Bottom line, to pull something like this off you are going to need a whole heck of a lot more than a million dollars. I don't know what the band charges but they and the crew aren't going to be expected to stay at the Hotel Q on Queens Blvd and hotels in Manhattan, particularly five star are not cheap. Doesn't even touch security, venue, printing, promotion, etc that comes with pulling a show like this off if not planned completely and thoroughly before it's even announced. Not to be a Debbie downer but it just isn't realistic to pull this off without using some type of professional show producer.======================================================================

It is funny that the northeast goes a year without a show and they are resorting to crowdfunding. (just a joke)Post edited by bootlegger10 on0

Because all 30 million of us are supporting it? How about the Seattle planned show by Wishlist?bootlegger10 said:It is funny that the northeast goes a year without a show and they are resorting to crowdfunding.

Don't be silly the band a crew are obviously going to be staying in one of the hotels by LaGuardia!Tuolumne Mama said:While I love seeing PJ in NYC, this is not my idea of a great or even good venue. /end sarcasm
I'll be happy if they play anywhere in NYC since I ain't going nowhere next year, but I really doubt they will. If they do a 2016 or 2017 fall tour thing I'll go along to as many NE shows as possible.
If the crowdfunding thing works, then good for them. I don't like the idea of it. If they play this Gorge place then a lot of people will be happy. If they play that place in Queens I'll try to get tickets cuz it'd be stupid of me not to.NYC 06/24/08-Auckland 11/27/09-Chch 11/29/09-Newark 05/18/10-Atlanta 09/22/12-Chicago 07/19/13-Brooklyn 10/18/13 & 10/19/13-Hartford 10/25/13-Baltimore 10/27/13-Auckland 1/17/14-GC 1/19/14-Melbourne 1/24/14-Sydney 1/26/14-Amsterdam 6/16/14 & 6/17/14-Milan 6/20/14-Berlin 6/26/14-Leeds 7/8/14-Milton Keynes 7/11/14-St. Louis 10/3/14-NYC 9/26/15
