And it's also not the first time that the shit bomb has addressed me as 'Beezie'. He did it in the 'Peace & Love' thread too. If any smart arse troll wants to post shit about me on these boards and fuck with the spelling of my name, then they've no right to pretend to be offended when I respond in kind.
Now shall we get back to the discussion of this thread topic - racism - or do you want to continue trying to derail yet another thread by making it all about me?
Did I personally insult you B? I was called the shit bomb...
So my name's 'B' now? And you're playing the victim card?
Cute.
Why don't we ask other posters what they think?
Did he insult me? Yes, or No?
He insulted you. He apologized. You never accepted that. You went on the attack.
Considering you continually make references to people taking exception to posts, I have to say- seeing as you asked for other posters' input- I'm a little surprised at your response.
He didn't apologize to me.
And as for 'going in the attack' I did nothing of the sort. I simply told Benjs not to waste his time responding to an obvious troll.
Commenting on the OP and not the topic was out of line and against the rules...my bad... sounds like an apology to me.
Continually calling him 'Shit Bomb' after he tried to clear the air sounds like an attack to me.
Please recognize the key terms in the previous two statements: sounds like... to me. I could be wrong, but that's how these things read to a neutral viewer.
You asked for people's two cents and I offered it. So, I am assuming your gratitude at the end of your post is sincere. As such... you're welcome!
Did he apologize directly to me? No.
And I'll call someone whatever I feel like calling them if they choose to call me 'Beezie', or in your case 'Byzine', or whatever the fuck it was that you decided to call me.
Carry on.
You sure take yourself seriously.
I mean... I guess I really shouldn't be surprised seeing as you like to quote yourself in your signature with things like a really deep and profound message that you conceptualized while high on acid (as if nobody else here has gone down that road and been 'really deep' before).
You feigned sincerity and so will I: sorry I rode on you. I'll try to remember to be more agreeable so that I can ride with you in the future.

What is the most racist country? All are the same.
Think all humans are racists, nature of our ingrained evolutionary makeup.
It's the level of acknowledgement and ability to overcome that differ.
Think this acknowledgement and willingness to overcome is tied directly to the benefits gained by sticking to ones race. So whites and Indians. White men and insecurities of black men taking their white women. One group having all the money power and not sharing. But this goes further than just physical traits hence the silly formations of religion and national borders. All build on this same simple evolutionary need for humans to identify with a group for security.

It's interesting that in England Polish migrant workers are welcomed with open arms, and there's a general belief that they are very hard and reliable workers. Compare that with British people's attitudes to Arabs and Indians entering the country - maybe something to do with skin colour?

Are all countries really the same when it comes to racism?
People who are disenfranchised or marginalized may be bigots but are they really racists?. As you mentioned, racism is predicated one group having some element of power so it's seems that it would be pretty difficult for a marginalized person or group to exercise true racism. Having said that, if given the opportunity I expect that almost every ethnic, religious and racial group would exercise comparable racist tendencies if they held a similar power advantage. The fundamental difference is that certain groups hold that power and fear that the tables will one day be turned (which is not necessarily an invalid fear).
I'll try to make this as brief as possible addressing Byrnzie on LSD first (because, hey, why not?), and secondly anyone who thinks this topic "What's the most racist country on the planet?" might be worth having a an opinion about.
Byrnzie, you're totally overbearing, dude. I'm not sure what your deal is, but you relentlessly lash out at everyone who isn't riding with you, and that can't make you a whole lot of friends. If you find that belittling, off putting, or insulting, you should think about the way other people in here READ you, and we do that only by what you type at us. My read on you, B? You post only in discussions about all that's wrong with the world, and it's almost always someone else's opinion on the subject copied and pasted. If its not lifted word for word somewhere, it's intolerant bile to anyone who crosses you. Again, overbearing. Take it down a peg.
Any conversation concerning racism is better than no conversation. But I would question the validity of a topic that wants your opinions on if it's Australia or Japan or Israel or the USA that is the most racist country in the planet. What difference does it make? All a question like that does along with all the posts that relentlessly spew out after is remove you from the act of working against racism by making it someone else's problem or hang up. Look at those assholes...
Try posing these questions...What neighborhood in the closest city to you has been crippled by racism? It's easy to find, you'll know it when you're there. What can I do to make sure that the cycle of institutionalized poverty and racism stops in this generation, or better yet by the end of the decade? Who can I contact that feels the same about these issues as I do, so at least I'm making an effort to combat societies ills?
I know people who will disagree with me on this, but I think we still have to acknowledge one of the greatest, most horrific acts of racism of all time was AND IS the American genocide of the First Nations/Native American/American Indian people. We wiped them out, shoved them around, herded the survivors on to shit hole pieces of land, shoved alcohol down their throats, gave them a few dollars- just enough to live on but not enough to move up- and proselytized them with our phoney religions. And then to add insult to injury we came up with all kinds of groovy ways to alleviate our guilt by making fake imitation dream catchers, and symbols to hang from our rear view mirrors and pendants, symbols and jewelry to hang on ourselves to become pretend Indians... while the real Indians are still being fucked.
True. And Leonard Peltier still resides in jail today for a crime that he didn't commit back in 1976. And the majority of native Americans continue to live in abject poverty within one of the wealthiest countries on Earth.
yes I disagree.

Godfather... did you read the disclaimer before posting what you did (it's italicized below)?
By disagreeing with this post, you establish the fact that you are the possessor of racial attitudes which have the effect of further perpetuating an intolerant society that many very good people are trying to improve. Further, by disagreeing you also submit to anyone who reads your post the fact that you are incapable of critical thought and are devoid of some of the most important, desirable and basic human qualities like empathy. Lastly, if spelling has routinely been a problem within the content of your MT posts and you have disagreed with this post, your grade 5 education certificate is hereby revoked.

Cute.
I'd tell you where you can stick your silly little character analysis/personal attack but I'm afraid you'd get all offended and belittled if I did.
Questioning you and your grandiose attitude and/or your 8th grade book report copy and paste style of posting and calling you Beezie hardly constitute a personal attack.

Well sure the more your like me the easier I am to accept you. Now if there were only Brits and poles and there was a famine or economic downturn, my guess is that discrimination towards poles would go up.
Even in homogeneous society herds are created for comfort and strength. Laugh when I see Harley riders do the down hand wave. Created another group. If a fight broke out in bar between a jock and one biker the corresponding groups would back their own regardless of who was at fault.

I sent you thank you message for standing up to line assholes and respected that big time. Felt exact same way and would of stood shoulder to shoulder if need be. Think you've gone to far on this though. No disrespect.
I initially didn't like this subject either but have choice to participate or not.
If he finds it disrespectful, I will not use the name Beezie when referring to Byrnzie. Challenging Byrnzie on what he "says" or the way he acts toward all who disparage him, (myself included) with him is OK, right?

I'm not sure I understand the value of assessing any one country as the most racist, partly because racism takes different forms in different cultures and attitudes are in constant change. Not too long ago most people would have said it was Germany with their Nazi movement. That movement isn't dead- just not as visible today but nevertheless. the German people I have known and met are wonderful people and great personal friends so I would not disparage their country because a minority of people are uber-assholes. I don't see the usefulness of picking out and disparaging a single country. Why not just conclude that racism is one of human beings (some of them) worst traits, bring it into the light and strike down that motherfucker of a trait?

Countries is an arbitrary imaginary line drawn on a map or globe so no relevance other than what humans allow it's leaders to manifest power from it. USA USA USA etc. Think we're all products of our environment so it not the "country" but rather the elements of the environment if I'm making any sense. Same as the religion of a person, has nothing to do with finding the right true god, result of where one is hatched.

Brian, I do agree that a discussion to discuss the 'most racist' country in the world is probably not necessary, but it seems like many people here are treating this thread as a way to shed light on racism issues across the world, without necessarily labelling them as "#1".
What's interesting about Germany as a case study in racism is how much effort they put into acknowledging their horrific brutality... I haven't been to Berlin but I know that a lot of prime real estate is given to memorials dedicated to those killed at the hands of the Nazis in WWII. Where other cultures hide their historical (or present) racism issues, ensuring they are never addressed adequately - Germany puts great effort into admitting the error in its ways, which at the very least delivers a message to its citizens that racism should not be tolerated.
As a Canadian, it does make me question where our acknowledgement of past brutalities committed resides - in Toronto, it's all but absent. Typically, the only mention of the Aboriginals I hear are from friends who go to the reserves for bootleg (tax-free) cigarettes and electronics, and avoid the reserves for anything else, out of fear of death at the hands of a drunk driver (which is somewhat of an epidemic from my understanding). If we ever wish to bridge the cultural divide between oppressors and oppressed, recognition of past injustices is critical.

I'm sorry I'm hurting your feelings.
Think of how generations of victims of institutional racism feel.
Even in homogeneous society herds are created for comfort and strength. Laugh when I see Harley riders do the down hand wave. Created another group. If a fight broke out in bar between a jock and one biker the corresponding groups would back their own regardless of who was at fault.
We are such simple animals. Not special. Tiki come on now. We all have our own personalities and think we should value all. Byrnzie(yes fkn hard for me to spell right each time ) adds serious value and fun to this board.
I sent you thank you message for standing up to line assholes and respected that big time. Felt exact same way and would of stood shoulder to shoulder if need be. Think you've gone to far on this though. No disrespect.
I initially didn't like this subject either but have choice to participate or not.
Challenging Byrnzie on what he "says" or the way he acts toward all who disparage him, (myself included) with him is OK, right?
Tiki, I would think so (also think it's a great dog name).
But you seem to be enjoying talking to yourself about me. So feel free to continue. Whatever floats your boat. Did you hear that everyone? He said that "If he finds it disrespectful, I will not use the name Beezie when referring to Byrnzie."
....but since it's not...
What do you base your understanding of those events on then? Your opinion?
