in fact is like this (it's easy!):
if you are a guy - say "obrigado"
if you are a girl - say "obrigada"

(and we always answer "de nada"!!!!)

Damn! that is why everyone kept laughing when I said Obrigado!! I thought it depended on the person you say it to!!

OK, saw pearl jam in Denver - was great to finally see them this tour, but warm vibes have worn off -and now I can't wait until Lisbon!!!

a little over a month away! and general admission early admission!
(so far my seats have pretty much sucked at all the shows I've been to but one - the vfc concert). am so pysched I cannot wait!

I imagine the pre-party show will the the admission line (never beent o pearl jam GA show yet).

Arriving the Aug 26 - will be staying in Alentejo region (Evora, estremoz), have family. Going to Lisboa early Sept 4th checking into hotel and going straight to the pavilion (about 12:00?) pick up tickets, lunch, party & wait for show!

    I just can't wait!

Have an empty house in Estremoz (when you look up at the castle from the rossio (center) it is two buildings away from the pousada). And will also stay at brother in law's house outside of evora (farm land area with a view of evora). We go to the small towns every day - find little places to eat.

We'll go to bencantel (visit family), vila vicosa (great restaurant in the park), borba.

Have never actually stayed IN Lisboa before. Have stayed in Cascais (hoeal baia in the winter), Oreias (MANY MANY years ago).

Only going for two weeks this time, mainly to see Pearl Jam!.

Are you Portuguese? (my husband is).

I stayed a month in Barcelona (again, many years ago) - I loved that city.

Hey guys, hope you don't mind me intruding on the conversation!

I'm goin to both Lisbon shows, we're flying in on the 3rd, arriving at about 9pm! I'm so excited about these shows, PJ are gonna tear the house down!

Is it easy to get trains at that time in the evening?

To be honest i have absolutely NO idea where to go when we get off the plain! We just have to try and find the hotel to check in!

    The hotel is:

    Ibis Lisboa Jose Malhoa
    Avenue Jose Malhoa LT H
    1070-158 Lisboa

So if anyone can help me out, it's much appreciated!

to go there u have two options:
wheter take bus to the centre and then change (im not sure of the numbers, but can tell you latter) or take a taxi (costs less than 10euros, i guess, and takes 15 minutes).

the airpot is in the city, so it's always fast... :) and at 9pm is cool, you will have transportation and wont be much traffic....
    how many of you?

Well we're going with two other people from this forum, staying in the same hotel too. But we don't know what time their flight gets in so we might be meeting them at the hotel. If that's the case, it'll just be two of us.

10 euros for the taxi doesn't sound that bad!

Taxis are quite reasonable. We'll have a rental car the first week while we are in the country, but are going to ditch it when we get into Lisboa. We'll take taxis or trains for the 4 days we are there. It is great getting around.

and for the newcomers, you can get a cabbie to take you on an informal tour for about $25.00 euros - quite entertaining. but it is always fun to go the centers and just wander too.

And yes, it is Oeiras (I never spell it right!). Portuguese is like russian-latin to me! very difficult. After 24 years I can "understand" what people are talking about and talk my way around the city, and "fake" answer easy questions. but is still very hard. One day, when we retire we will live (part time) over there and I will learn more. pois, pois...

I met my husband in Oeiras, at Catalazete (sp?) pousada de juventude 24 years ago. He was from Estremoz :)

    Boa noit!

    CAN'T WAIT UNTIL THE CONCERTS!!!!!!!

So what does everyone think the odds are that, with Lisbon being the only city on the tour getting two nights, each show will have a unique setlist with no repeats?

I think they'll be very different setlists, or at least i'm hoping they will be! Obviously there'll be a fe repeats (Betterman, Severed Hand, WWS etc), but i think they'll be two very special shows!

Do you think they will play more off Riot Act (in Europe in general) because they did not tour there after it was released?

back in '96 the setlists were different, but with a lot in common.... i believe it will be more or less the same....
