i was speaking with a friend of mine and she cited a poll that was released today. it broke down american support for israel based on age groups and race. i don't have the link yet but she is going to email it to me sometime tomorrow so i will post it then.
this is from my memory of a conversation from 3 hours ago so forgive me if it is not exactly 100% accurate. from what she said,
it found that white americans over age 59 overwhelmingly supported israel.
white americans under age 40 dramatically supported the palestinians.
so from this, it appears to be a generational thing, which is good for israel right now since the people in that older age group are the ones in power here. in another 15 or 20 years that demographic will be dramatically different, which will favor the palestinians. only problem is, if things keep going this way, the palestinians will have been wiped off of their land by then.

see, this is what happens when americans come into these threads, talk out of their butts, get called out on it with facts, and get embarrassed. they can't debate the facts. NOBODY supporting israel can debate or deny the facts. they can't try to justify what is going on, otherwise they appear to be pro war and pro ethnic cleansing, and as a result they get angry and leave instead of trying to learn something. it is as if they are offended that "the best country in the world" has the shittiest, slanted-in-favor-of-israel, media. they need to admit that they are ignorant of the situation, ignorant of the history, ignorant of the root cause of this conflict, rather than come in here and try to pass off some bullshit as fact. don't be embarrassed, probably 65% of all americans who blindly support israel know nothing of the history of the region. all they know is "i am an american christian, and we support israel because we need israel to be there so jesus can come back." we are basing foreign policy on biblical shit, and it is completely irresponsible and reprehensible.rr165892 said:Byrnzie,You sir are 100% correct.I need to stop. This thread is no longer a discussion.it's turned into propaganda filled,Pro Palestinian,Pro terrorist, biased, hate fest ,circle jerk.
The anti American talk makes me absolutely sick and those who are American and on here bashing your own country WAKE THE FUCK UP you should be ASHAMED .The freedoms your enjoying right now are protected and secured by people who give their lives every day fighting against these very same Jihadi terror groups scumbags your cheering on and supporting.Mind blowing.
Byrnzie, Make no mistake about it ,I live in the south,I Absolutely don't worry one bit about "Muslims and Jihadi terrorists climbing down my chimney to Murder my wife and children"But I do appreciate you looking out for us.
Enjoy.
presenting facts does not equal propaganda. the rest of the world opposes israel and it opposes the united states' support of israel. are all of those countries wrong??? or would it be logical to look in the mirror and possibly conclude that "maybe, just maybe, the americans might be on the wrong side of this thing." our hubris does not allow for such self examination and self criticism unfortunately.
yes i am an american. i am a patriot. i love my country, and i expect it to be what it claims to be. a beacon for humanity, peace, justice, righteousness. there is a lot to love about this country, but there is a lot more to criticize. our support of israel is inexcusable. how can we claim to love peace and freedom and allow palestinians to live in an open air prison on what little land they have left? i expect better of my country. a lot better. and i will bash this country when i see that it deserves to be bashed. you should do the same. i am ashamed of my country's policy on this conflict. if you were paying any sort of attention, and if you had any sort of compassion in your heart, you would be ashamed too. do not, ever, fucking question my patriotism.0 -

Byrnzie, this absolutely is a two-sided conflict, no matter how one-sided the power distribution is. You have two perspectives, that's all it takes. Call it oppressor & oppressed, if you'd like. I wasn't talking about any power distribution anyways, more just the fact that there are two radically different viewpoints on atrocities throughout history, separated by a border.Byrnzie said:
That's just a cop-out, and does nothing except empower the oppressor. This is not a two-sided conflict. It's one of the Worlds largest military machines oppressing and terrorizing a largely defenseless people, despite what CNN, or Fox tell you.i_lov_it said:Exactly...Who's going to concede when Both Sides think they're Right...that's why there's so Much War and Conflict all Sides think there Right the other is Wrong that's it...Not to mention War is Money as well.

killing children is not a legitimate act/s of Defense.
Why is it ok that our children, our weman will be underfire consistently
For the last 11 Years! 11Years!
Is it ok. Dose that makes you feel ok as long as no one in Gaza is geting hurt?
Really?
Then.. Dont expect from me to see some others sorrow while mine is irrelevant for you.

Well, now u got the West Bank rising. And with the overwhelmingly people (not governments) supporting the Palestinians, you're gonna feel your borders closing tighter. I posted a link that said there are 100,000's of Jews In NYC and America who DO NOT SUPPORT this MASSACRE. I believe they actually had a protest in New York with 1000's and 1000's of protesters, humans who actually have a heart. And I would've be proud to stand with them that day. Yup, a fucken Muslim standing right next to a Jew in solidarity. It can be done and MUST BE DONE. No excuses, stop the fucking bloodshed. Stop the fucking killing, stop creating pictures of fathers burying their 3 year olds with half a brain missing. Enough already. We are so far from love that I dnt think we'll ever have it. Unreachable. Not when one side keeps creating freedom fighters on a daily basis.SivanMerili said:

First: "The greatest defence is attack". This is an abhorrent (or, in simpler English terms, disgusting or sick) concept which I've already stated my opinion on: great logic for team sports, less so when you have LIVES to consider.
Second: "end this horror once and for all". I fail to see how this ground invasion leads to any end except for the eventual conclusion that Israel eradicates the entirety of the Palestinian population. With such an intelligent military, it's actually a bit insulting as a member of the public to think that the Israeli government expects me to believe that their tactics can lead to any OTHER end (ie. if you think Hamas leaders in wartime are living in civilian homes in Gaza, ready to have rockets dropped on them or militaries swarm them, think again). In fact, I'd go as far as rephrasing your statement to read that the horror is that there's only one end to this if things continue, and it resides in massive pools of blood.
As long as you guys here are ignoring us the civilianze in Israel, who are systemticly under fire for the last 11 years!
Donr expect fome me to feel sorry that we are fighting our battke againt a ruthless Jihad ideology.
Im not here to apologize sbout anything.
Im damd proud of our country, our people, por IDF.
This is us, united against the terror.
Nothing will stop us.
At the day missiles will stoped firing into israel, tunnels of terror will be destroied, and the terrors foundation in gaza will be vanished, and be free to live my life peacefuly, ill be open to discusse it with you.

Sivan is a damn proud israeli civilian who had enough with this bulls, when Sivan is being UNDER FIRE FOR THE LAST 11 years.

Yup, loud and clear. Roger that. Oh and question. When you left your house to see pearl jam in Europe , how long did it take you to get to the airport? Must of taken you a long time dodging missiles and looking out for tunnels with boogeymen waiting to jump out at you. That's a crazy risk, you must really love pearl jam.SivanMerili said:

I will run to find shellter, i will lay down on the ground in the open air, i will escape from my car when hearing the alarm, i will be afarid as hell and praying the missile wont hit me or my beloved ones, and i still fly to a PJ gig.

Our fault maybe, as a Israeli civilian that this reality became a 'normal' life for us.
Living between alarms and missiles attack.
As im thinking on this, i realize how crazy it is.
Berlin was my sane shelter for two days.
Knew wonderful people there.
And im so happy that i did it any way.
If you think my family were ok with that, you are wrong.
They are not ok even when i decide to go to work every day.
But im an adulte and i decide for my self, and will never stop my routine cause of a bunch of terrorists.
