Just got a message from a high school friend that she's hiding from the active shooter at Medina hospital in Ohio.
Fuck. I hope she's OK. I guess this is so commonplace now that it doesn't even rate as "breaking news" on CNN. Front page shows nothing. Had to search to find articles on local news sites. The 3 reports I saw still say "possible", so maybe CNN is waiting for confirmation of an actual active shooter. Either way, super fucked up and way too prevalent.

Yeah, I don;t think that was thought through...but I don;t believe they meant to be mean. To be honest, I had that same initial impression and then thought about it a bit and came to your conclusion before I posted anything. Wait till it's over and see if people are safe and then joke about the joke that is American gun control. Someone made a similar point back to me in the Fire thread that made me think more and I agree now, gotta get out of the danger to life 1st before the discussion.
