    But they rank 28th in gun ownership. Are you arguing that they’re “responsible” until they’re not? Like the guy who shot his neighbor in the back of the head because he scolded him for mistreating his dog. I thought more guns made us safer?

    If only the passing motorists who were shot, weren't in a gun free zone (their car), they could have returned fire.  Trump would likely have circled around in his car and made another pass (sans weapon of course).  Again, gun laws getting in the way of freedom and liberty.

    So many potential threads to put this in. Should it be America's Gun Violence? Should it be the police abuse thread? Should it be the idiot threat? The officer appears to be an idiot, but that diminishes the violence offered to this innocent guy.

    And of course, the victim isn't white.....

    Watch an off duty police officer draw his gun on a man in a gas station convenience store that he believed stole a pack of mints, simply because he entered the store after the guy had paid for the mints.

    I’m only familiar with gun laws in CA and CO. By comparison to California CO is nothing. What about the laws here is so tough compared to other states?

    I know colorado is one of the few states that have 10 round mag limits.  And you would be correct, colorado gun laws are nothing compared to california (although being from new jersey I know how californians feel).

    I'm all for teaching kids gun safety, but this is just some backwards thinking. Especially the comment about how it's "adorable" a 4 year old can change a magazine on a rifle.     I almost shit myself when I read this!  I graduated high school with a Chris Snyder.  We were good friends, went to school together since 3rd grade, and he would be 41.  Pretty sure he became a State Trooper and moved down toward DC.  I found a Washington Post article with the dude's picture - thank god it's a different guy.

    I mean, I'm not thankful that 3 people are dead in my home state which has super strict gun laws.  But that's why my mind went there so quick.  It's tough to even get a handgun here - thought for an instant that maybe it was him and he used a police issued weapon. But again, different guy.

    But right next door in Virginia, I believe, its not and close enough, there's South Carolina and Tennessee. Access to firearms is not problematic wherever one resides.

    I almost shit myself when I read this!  I graduated high school with a Chris Snyder.  We were good friends, went to school together since 3rd grade, and he would be 41.  Pretty sure he became a State Trooper and moved down toward DC.  I found a Washington Post article with the dude's picture - thank god it's a different guy.

    I mean, I'm not thankful that 3 people are dead in my home state which has super strict gun laws.  But that's why my mind went there so quick.  It's tough to even get a handgun here - thought for an instant that maybe it was him and he used a police issued weapon. But again, different guy.
    But right next door in Virginia, I believe, its not and close enough, there's South Carolina and Tennessee. Access to firearms is not problematic wherever one resides.
    It's kind of the same where I live.  I'm 5 minutes away from PA to the north and 5 minutes away from WV to the east.  There are 2 other quick accesses to WV within 45 minutes, and VA is about the same to the southeast. There is probably nowhere in Maryland that you aren't within 45 minutes of another state.

    As a matter of fact, there is a shooting range 5 minutes away that allows you to rent assault weapons.  It's right next to the pawn shop that sells them.
