My cousin pulls people over during the holidays and gives families gift cards. Nice little gesture!

Seems dangerous to me. Is the person being pulled over for no reason, or pulled over for a reason then decides to give out the card? I see so many stories about accidents occurring when police officers have people pulled over. Seems like a liability issue if something bad happens. Maybe he's choosing who does and doesn't get rewarded for breaking the law? Maybe your cousin gives out the ticket and the gift card?

Santa got help from a few superheroes to deliver presents to boys and girls at one Brooklyn hospital.

Police officers from the Brooklyn North Division traded in their uniforms for comic book costumes and swung by Interfaith Medical Center’s Bishop Orris G. Walker, Jr. Health Care Center.
Batman, Spider-Man, and other characters delivered gifts to children with sickle-cell anemia.

The officers said they were thrilled to brighten holiday spirits around the hospital.

"We're in a holiday season and this is really about giving," said Brooklyn North Patrol's Commanding Officer Jeffrey Maddrey. "Here at Brooklyn North we wanted to come out spread some cheer, spread some love, give gifts to children."

"I got two motorcycles," said one child. "I have 30 presents at my aunt's house and 40 presents at my dad's house, so I'm happy."

The kids also got to pose for a picture with Santa and the superheroes outside the hospital.

An orange cat who seemed determined to ruin everyone's Christmas by becoming road kill on the Grand Central Parkway was spared death by a highway cop last week.
According to the NYPD's Facebook page, the cat, whose identity remains unknown, accidentally wandered onto the highway in Queens on Friday. The highway cop spotted him as he darted underneath a stopped silver SUV—the cop asked the driver to move forward, then he scooped the scared cat up and carried him to safety on the grass. "Cat and cop are now new friends and doing well,” the NYPD says.
Video is only on FB so sorry Anti-FBers who can't see it. I don't know that I would call that cat a kitten. Still, makes my heart swell like the Grinch's!

Wow, just read the Police abuse thread and was pretty sad to see so much of it on the Pearl Jam forums.

Then I found this thread. Thank-you to those of you who can look at individual and not just a profession. Labelling an entire profession because of a few is just as bad a racism. Let judge others based on who they are not who they work with.

The bad cop threads and cop hate threads are almost as popular on these boards as the Republican hate threads and the anti Israel, terrorist apologist threads. So enjoy the biased reading.

That's just ridiculous, nothing about this post is accurate.

You are correct. Although tempered somewhat at the moment... I would say that the cop hate threads are far more popular than the anti Israel threads which, for the most part, are driven by the work of a few representing both sides of the issue.
