And wasn't there a big WWII thing or something??? I don't know, I just remember there being quite a few Jewish people also.

Hmm... Edith Piaf is another one, lol, and why I remember HER being there is beyond me

    Cool place though.

Because she is one of the great ones (in French culture at least!)

Strangely enough it was quite a nice place to walk around. Sounds pretty morbid but I found it really interesting. Can someone explain the oranges to me though?

    Just checked...quite a pantheon...

    Balzac - writer
    Chopin - composer
    Georges Bizet - composer
    Sarah Bernhardt - actress
    Beaumarchais - dramatist
    Daumier - painter
    Auguste Compte - philosopher
Heloise $ Abelard - The doomed lovers
    Appolinaire - poet
Gerard de Nerval - writer and man who liked to walk a lobster around the Luxembourg gardens
Eugene Delacroix - writer, painter, art critic
    Marcel Proust - writer

And these are but a few. Morrison's in good company.

I actually like walking around cemetaries as well - so does my daughter. We live near one and we always have to cut through it to go anywhere

oh scary... 40000 morbidly obese christians wearing fanny packs invading europe is probably the least scariest thing since I watched an edited version of The Care Bears movie in an extremely brightly lit cinema.

I personally don't think it's that expensive - it's about £3.50 a pint - we were in Cork at the weekend and in Temple Bar in February and we were paying about 10euros for a Guinness and large bottle of Magners (Bulmers - what the fuck 2 different names!!!!) We pay that in Newcastle - sometimes more!

Lol no, I was never a goth :D

Although I feel sometimes like I'm GOING that way  . Yeh see for me everything's backwards - I'll be like the oldest goth in the world :o

And redrock, I didn't mean I like walking around graveyards in GENERAL :D . Just that Pere Lachaise was pretty interesting stuff :)

Buru, a pint in Dublin is anything from 4euro to 5.50 euro (Temple Bar usually after a certain time)

Sorry with Dave's championing of the Astorians with tickets thread I think we got a little distracted :o

Also been having problems with the site and watching webcasts etc.

I liked that interview you posted..this bit with Ed was interesting....

Ever poke around the message boards?

I've never replied to anything. Well, no, I did. I replied once. A kid had the lyrics for a song called ''State of Love and Trust,'' and it was just bass-ackwards. So I wrote to him and said, ''My brother's good friends with Ed's brother, and he got a copy of the lyrics, and here's what it is.'' And then like two days later I got a reply and I thought, Oh, this'll be interesting, he'll probably be thanking me... and it was just one word. It said, ''Nope.'' That's when I realized, Okay, I don't have time to get in the ring.
