our flight gets in at 8:55am !!! so breakfast , find a few of you and start queing !!!!

I'll be arriving at the pub at about 2pm, and I won't be leaving for the venue until about 5 or 6pm. Fucked if I'm standing around for 2 or 3 hours. The 10 clubbers will be near the front regardless! So we will! :D

Oh, and by the way, I've arrived at the conclusion that ghosts don't haunt turds, despite what my dream may have lead me to believe. Just wanted to reasure you on that point in case you were scared of going to the toilet or anything.

what are you talking about a pit for?

its just a whole standing area isn't it?

If you look at the website

    http://www.thepoint.ie/

and look up Pearl Jam there is a find my seat option and the standing area seems to have four sets of barriers across (at least that's what I think they are  ) which I presume are to stop crushing so possibly 10c will be the front section. It looks like you can walk around the edge of the barriers though.

Never been to The Point so don't know what it's usual set up is.
So are we strangers now? Like rock and roll and the radio?

the points standing area is always divided up, usually with a closed pit (armbands only) at the front and then divided up with lateral barriers to contain the crowd and stop crushing. all since the smashing pumpkins gig when that girl died, still the scariest night of my life, still get shudders when I walk into the point :(

The standing are has never been divided during any of the many times I have been there.

How far back were you at the Astoria? Now stop arguing with everything I say - if I wanna be in the queue all day well that's where I'll be :) . Nobody really knows how the whole wristband thing works anyway.

And you just fucking TRY it!!!!!! ;)

You collect the wrist bands with your tickets so that will be when you are able to collect them :)

Yeah there definitely appears to be something across the standing area but not quite sure what. It would be cool if they did divide it up and the 10C members got right to the front without being squashed.

Same goes for me - the pit of course is always there (first come get armbands - but that will probably be the 10c section) but behind that it's just a big open space.

You can all go to the pub beforehand but I reckon I'll quite happily join the queue as early as I can.
    The Astoria??? Orgazmic!

i asked 10club as i was wondering this very thing... heres the reply

No ... There will not be a barrier between the GA entrants and the fan club
entrants. We have a professional security team who will be monitoring the
    situation.

    Thanks
    10C Staff

still not sure if that means there is no barrier whatsoever or if the pit part of the Point is still open... never been so dont know!!

Hells... the tenclub emails say how the wristband thing works... have you not received your tenclub emails????? ;););)

so its the pub for us lot then ;) .... and then we can join the queue at 5pm and be 1 person behind Helen after she's been standing for 9 hours (colostomy bag time is it) ;):p

right... no more arguing with Hellsy today... *looks for someone else* :D

The pit's been there for every single GA concert I've been to. Not sure how many it holds though so there may be other people in with the 10c people - I dunno.

Sorry, how close to the front were you at Astoria again?

Fucking crap predictions yesterday  again. Closest I got was my 2-0 win for Germany. Ukraine DIDN'T draw with Spain (lucky I didn't listen to Al's 'tip' about them winning :D ) and Tunisia didn't beat Saudi Arabia either

Dunno, see if I can get someone to go to the pub after work - otherwise it will be 2nd half at home only.

People are seriously driving me mental today - coming in and out constantly. Think I'm gonna be quiet around here.

Yeah, I'm working till 5:30 so will miss the first half hr. Luckily the pub is opposite work so I'll be straight over there.

I was about 4 or 5 from front on Stone's side... now bear in mind I joined the queue at about 5.45pm thats pretty good going... also bear in mind the venue holds about a 1/5th or less of the point and that at the Astoria we had no special entry priviledges... again i was pretty close.... fuck at the Astoria everyone was close :)

i just think standing from before 9.00am is pointless when we get in early anyway... along with a few hundred others right enough, but the Point is a big place isnt it? The ticket box doesnt open till 12noon anyway so where are you going to queue??? do you know if there are seperate queues for 10club members or GA? what if you spend 4 hours in the wrong queue and then the 10C ticket box tells you need to go into a different entrance??

    question questions

I heard Spain looked a bit handy up front, but then I also heard that Ukraine were shit. I reckon we'll have to wait until Spain go up against a better side to get an idea of what they're all about.

Yeah Ukraine were pretty poor right enough but then i dont think they could have done much about it... Spain were just so slick... up front they have 2 of Europe's most on form strikers...and both are very young still...

they dont appear to face anyone 'better' than Ukraine in their group stages though... i'd love them to win it :)
