Well... if we're speaking furthest north any country, the furthest I've been is Trondheim in Norway (snow in August!) which is a bit more than Tampere! Would have loved to go much more and catch the midnight sun - that must be weird....0

I'd love to see that midnight sun and the northern lights too - it must be amazing... I'd imagine it would be slightly colder than in my dream thoughThe Astoria??? Orgazmic!

Pronounced just like it's written... NOT!! My friend from Ireland is coming to London with her daughter for a few days later on this afternoon. Her daughter's name is Saoirse (good Irish name!). When we (me and some friends) got a text from the dad a few minutes after the birth with the name, we were all 'what the f*** - how do you pronounce that?' (I think the mum who is american had a few problems at the beginning as well!). It's a lovely name...0 -

Yep.... they liked the meaning of the name thus they called her that!0 -
hello everyone, what a lovely day today.
Helly, the midnight sun is amazing and kinda weird too. you don't notice it as well here in the south as you do in Lapland but still. it's pretty exciting to think the sun isn't going to set."Don't be faint-hearted, I have a solution! We shall go and commandeer some small craft, then drift at leisure until we happen upon another ideal place for our waterside supper with riparian entertainments."0 -

Heineken Helen wrote:Ooohh, I'd like that - it's like you never have to leave the pub... cos it's still bright outside.
lol. well, it's not *bright* throughout the whole day. :rolleyes:it does get a little dark but technically the sun doesn't set.
 I just realised, after today I think I'll be able to log in on Sunday. going to work on a camp and so I won't be home. well, I can maybe pop in on Friday for a while but I'm not sure. how will you lot manage without me? :eek:lol.

hello everyone, I know i'm probably thinking about this waaay too far in advance (but I can hardly think about anything else i'm so excited) but what time do you think i should queue outside the Point (dublin) before the show. I want to have some chance of getting near the front (preferably into the pit). I was thinking around lunch time (with a bag o cans!) but i've heard of people talking about queuing from 8am.....Please advise0

Heineken Helen wrote:Well the 10c people will be getting in first. I dunno, I reckon you'd be safe enough until 1 or 2 and then the queue will probably take off.
I'm 10c so don't know what time we will need to queue from. Plane doesn't land till 10:30 though. I think from what has happened on the US legs the 10c ticket collection window doesn't open untill noon anyway.
Think Hells has it about right if you're not 10c
EDIT: Forgot to say welcome to the pit and welcome to the Dublin threadSo are we strangers now? Like rock and roll and the radio?0 -
