oh scary... 40000 morbidly obese christians wearing fanny packs invading europe is probably the least scariest thing since I watched an edited version of The Care Bears movie in an extremely brightly lit cinema.

Hi.....I am not part of the Dublin crew, but I will be visiting Dublin next summer. Can anyone recommend a good area in which to stay?
You will be once you visit! Are you just holidaying or doing anything in particular? Anywhere around Dublin 2 or 4 as they're lovely areas and handy for walking to the city centre!

We will be on holiday. Thanks for the advice regarding 2 or 4.
Also going to Manchester for The Stone Roses gigs.

Stone Roses are playing here too, but understandably you'd wanna head to Manc for the gigs!
Lemmie know if you want any pub/food advice. Try veer away from Temple Bar - it's grand for one night out but very touristy and can be a nightmare on a Saturday night. For pubs that'll have Pearl Jam playing check out Cassidys, Gypsy Rose, the Mezz, P.Macs and Sweeneys.

1st generation Irish American here... spent several summers as a kid on the family farms in Leitrim & Donegal... completely stoked at the opportunity to see one of my favorite bands over there... this is a bucket list item for sure, and i hope it comes to fruition.

Question for the Dublin Crew - if you were taking one of the shuttle buses from Dublin City Centre to Marlay, when would you want to leave? I see articles from last year advising folks to add 2 hours to their expected travel time for shows - that can’t be right can it?

I've used that service many times and it's never taken 2 hours, not going out anyway. An hour tops. That being said one should always factor in for unexpected problems but unless there's a ten car pile up en route I wouldn't expect you'd need to board the bus earlier than an hour, allowing the usual time for going through security st the venue etc.
