Macy’s is closing. That really fucking sucks. Was always going to happened but god dammit
They are fighting to stay relevant but it is a tough fight for an old brand.
    Sad for them, though.

They're no Strawbridge and Clothiers and never have been, I'll tell you that.

    Ha.
Not saying I support them but have made a lot of money in my day from working with May Company, and then Macy's when they bought them, over the years.  Not something I support any longer.

My kid tripped out on the 34th Street one in Manhattan at Christmas time.

Just don’t know what’s going to happen to that building. It’s so in debt. I know there’s a lot of vacant office space. Have to figure it turns into something mixed use residential and who knows what happens to that main area and light show and all at that point. They have to figure out a way to keep that. Beautiful building

As long as the Christmas light show/organ and Dickens Village stays then I'm OK.

I used to work at Clover (subdivision of strawbridge and clothier) if you remember them.

I believe the statute of limitations is up... I stole a pack of Upper Deck baseball cards from our SW Philly Clover when I was 16. They'll deport you for that nowadays.

Dave my sister worked at Clover (she was uninvolved in this grand larceny).

Wow, didn't see Comcast/76ers news coming.
This changes what the touted Market East changes look like.

Most people just want to drive to the game and drive home. If you've got kids you're not going bar hopping after the game. Most of the games are on weeknights anyway. It is what it is. The South Philly location just works.

They need that Japanese guy who owns a cheesesteak place in Japan to become the Phillies' ambassador for a Japan-->Philly pipeline.

Damn shame for everyone, especially given the circumstances of an angel flight taking a little girl back to Mexico; terrible.

Couple this...absolutely the most ridiculous "snow day" I have ever ever seen.

Also, SS United States heading out today. With all the great work being done to the waterfront, it's a good thing, but nostalgic about that rusting dump that's been there since they day I stepped foot here.

Always thought that ship looked spooky at night time whenever I'd drive past it.

It was slippery as fuck up in Montco this morning. Looks like mostly rain now.

You know, with Jeffrey Lurie talking about hosting a Super Bowl, I was thinking, "yeah it'd be nice if we could play indoor baseball when the weather is terrible"

I will say, kids get like maybe two legitimate snow days a year now. A Rain Day is cool.

Thing is fingers crossed there will be another day off next week...

how about like 3 days off next week?  Looking like show Tuesday and/or Wednesday so push that possible gathering to late in the week.
