The made up versions of words in this region are fucking spectacular.
    Crayon is my personal favorite.
It is not a thing the king wears on his fucking head!
Wanna know somethin' fucked up? Because I didn't want to say crown it made me pronounce "Creole" like crayon. Cray-ohl. I got called out for that shit.

    CROWN!!!!!

I do not understand that one a little bit. That one, to this day, gets me the most and I hear it more often now since I have a kid.

I don't get that either. It's always been cray-on to me.

My wife pronounces caramel like "carmel." I 'm not sure if that is a Philly thing or not but it bugs me.

Carmel caramel is understandable - and I think that is done is plenty of other areas of the country.

Crown is just.....whacked.  Crayn or crayon are the only two ways I'd ever heard it before we moved back here.  I thought my in-laws were just slack jawed yocals, but the fucking teachers say it that way as well.  What in the fucking fuck?
I mock almost anyone who says it...I know it is a dick move but, seriously.

I don't think I've ever pronounced it crown. If I was creative and had more time I'd post a Netflix poster of that Queen Elizabeth show that says "The Crayon".

My mom and especially my uncle say “warshington” or “wartch” a lot. My sister and I luckily didn’t pick up on that.

Fuck that game. Back to Easttown. I just finished it. In addition to the accents, which I thought they were initially a little overdone but got a ton better throughout, the show seems like a fucking winner all around.

The girl who gets killed just had that Delco look about her too. I don't know how to describe it. Jen Lawrence gave me that vibe in Silver Linings Playbook too.

Also, nice to see Roy from The Office finally get another acting job (I'm sure he's been in other shit, but I sure as hell haven't seen any of it)!

There's no way they are exaggerating those accents. I said something about soap yesterday and then played back in my head how I said the "o" sound and it's crazy.

Ehhhh, some of it felt a little overdone to me. I think my accent isn't as pronounced though so that probably has something to do with it. Either way, they've got it down better than any show I've seen.

    Attaway, Mick.

I've always said we're more cousins with Bawl-tee-mohr than NYC or Boston.

Case in point, the Charm City accent like this guy's is much closer to ours:

My wife still watches these dumb morning shows. Tamron Hall is currently airing! I happened to walk by a little while ago when she was sharing one of her favorite quotes and it was from.....Eddie Vedder. lol. And it was from Guaranteed, of all songs..."I knew all the rules but the rules did not know me." Took me a minute or to place the song.

That's about as random as it gets.

    Anyway...go Phils.

If I was keeping everything straight, Mare's daughter has a son but appears to be sleeping with a girl. Interesting.

Actually, I think Mare also had a son who died and that kid is/was his. At the end of the episode she imagines him sitting there watching her lay with the kid....

That's what I was asking earlier. I guess I'm not the only one that didn't pick up on that her grandson is her son's, who is dead.

It looks like from descriptions on the show they say he committed suicide. But like it wasn't obvious, even on a very surface subtle level. I kept assuming the kid was his daughter's. I watched it again last night because my wife didn't make it through all of it.

Then I realize you hear her grandson talking to Mare when they're in bed about his dad.
